Maximus is a (former) supporting antagonist-turned-one of the two tritagonists (alongside, Pascal) of Disney's Tangled. He is a palace horse who originally owned to the former captain of the Corona guards and the former leader of the guards' horses, and he is now Rapunzel and Eugene's pet horse.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- Despite at first being a lawful neutral horse officer, he only tried to arrest Flynn Rider (at first) and the Stabbington Brothers, because they were dangerous criminals and they stoled the crown tiara of the lost princess Rapunzel.
- After first meeting Mother Gothel, he wasn’t very sure if she was a trusted woman, and it was later revealed to be true as she was the one who kidnapped the lost princess Rapunzel when she was a baby 18 years ago.
- When first meeting Rapunzel and Pascal, he quickly befriends them as Rapunzel was the first person to appreciate him.
- He kindly accepted Rapunzel’s peace offer to his former arch-rival Flynn Rider for her birthday.
- During Rapunzel’s first visit at the kingdom of Corona and Flynn was starting to fall in love with him, he and Pascal helped him win the love of Rapunzel, and kindly accepted Flynn’s apples as he bought them.
- After realizing that Mother Gothel took Rapunzel away and Flynn has been arrested, he called the Pub Thugs and he along with them freed Flynn from prison.
- After he freed Flynn, he took him to Rapunzel’s Tower to save her from Mother Gothel.
- After Mother Gothel’s death and Rapunzel returned to her real family; Queen Arianna and King Frederic, he became the new Captain of the Guards, as all crime in the kingdom of Corona disappeared, thanks to him.
- At the end of the movie, he subverted most of his corrupting factors, including his lawful neutral attitude and his rivalry against Flynn Rider, now known as Eugene Fitzherbert.
- In Tangled: The Series, he helped Rapunzel and Eugene protect and save Corona countless times and defend it from villains, such as Zhan Tiri, Cassandra, and Varian, especially in Tangled: Before Ever After, where he and the guards stop Lady Caine, after she accidentally grabbed the only weapon that was holding the door lock, and later he along with Rapunzel and the guards arrested her and her crew for their crimes.
- During Rapunzel and Eugene’s wedding when they accidentally lost the wedding rings, he and Pascal managed to retrieve them and get them back to the wedding, to prevent their horrible vision about the kingdom being exploded, and they even felt worried for the accident mess they caused in the attendees when they tried to retrieve the rings.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He fails the admirable standards to Pascal, who saved the whole kingdom with a sacrifice and with less resources.
- Despite shredding most of his corrupting factors, he remained some of his jerkish attitude in him.
- His sapience is limited, presenting issues with moral agency. However, he still has a personality so this isn't too mitigating.
