Mantis is a major character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She is an actual humanoid mantis from an unknown alien race who has powers based on empathy, who she used to be Ego’s servant, but later joined the Guardians of the Galaxy, along with her half-brother Peter, to defeat him and other villains, such as Thanos and the High Evolutionary.

- While she may seem to fail the admirable standard at first, other heroes have more resources, and Mantis does as much as she can with her emotion-inducing superpower without holding back.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2[]
- Although she was first introduced as Ego’s servant, she was never actually evil, she is a kind and friendly humanoid mantis alien.
- When she first met Drax, she befriended him and despite he played a joke to her about Rocket being a puppy, she liked his joke and laugh with him too.
- She and Ego invited Peter, Gamora, and Drax to go visit and meet Ego’s planet and so that Peter can get along with Ego as he revealed to him that he is his biological father.
- When Peter and Drax wondered about her antenas, she shared to them her secret about her antenas are the source of her superpower; empathy to use it to feel their feelings and put anyone to sleep; especially when she revealed to Peter that he was in love with Gamora.
- After having a talk with Drax about his wife and daughter’s death and she being Ego’s ugly pet, she didn’t got mad at him and she felt sadness for his family’s death.
- Although, at first, she couldn’t tell Drax and Gamora about Ego’s evil plan, she was worried for them.
- After discovering that Ego succeeded on manipulating Peter, she warned Drax about it, despite Drax refused at first to listen to her because he doesn’t like her appearance.

- When Ego attempted to destroy her and the Guardians to prevent them stop his evil plan, she used all of her empathy powers to put him asleep and give Peter, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, Groot, Yondu, Nebula enough time to put the bomb on Ego’s core and destroy it, to save the universe from being destroyed by him.
- After destroying completely Ego’s core, she along with Peter, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, Groot, Yondu, and Nebula saved the universe from being destroyed by Ego.
- After Ego’s death and Yondu sacrificed his life to save Peter, she along with Peter, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, Groot, and Nebula mourned his death and prepare his funeral, while Nebula leave the Guardians to go fight Thanos to save the universe from him in the future.
- When Rocket called most of Yondu’s Ravagers friends and they all assisted to his funeral and honored his noble sacrifice, she was happy for them.

Avengers: Infinity War[]
- After receiving the emergency signal from the Asgardian ship that Thor, Loki, Hulk, and Heimdall were, she along with Peter, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot went to rescue them, although they were too late since Thanos destroyed all the ship and killed the half of the Asgardian people, except Thor.
- After discovering that Thor was still alive, she, along with Peter, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot, rescued him and get him comfortable into the ship, since Thor had suffered too much when Thanos killed Loki and Heimdall in front of him.
- When Thor tell to them that Thanos went to Knowhere to steal the Reality Stone from the Collector, she along with Peter, Gamora, and Drax went to Knowhere to stop him, while Rocket and Groot went with Thor to Nidavellir to get a weapon to destroy Thanos.
- After arriving to Knowhere, she, along with Peter, Gamora, and Drax, tried to stop Thanos, although it was too late since Thanos succeeded on getting the Reality Stone and he kidnapped Gamora.
- When she received Nebula’s emergency signal on Titan, she, along with Peter and Drax, went to Titan to stop him, although later Thanos was not there and they meet Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange.
- She, along with Peter, Drax, Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange, formed a plan to stop Thanos once he arrives on Titan to get the Time Stone, while Doctor Strange had a vision of the future that only one out of fourteen million six hundred and five timelines was where they won.
- When Thanos arrived in Titan and attempted to take the Time Stone from Doctor Strange, she teamed up with him, along with Iron Man, Spider-Man, Peter, Drax, and Nebula to take him down and trapped him, and succeed but later failed because Peter ruined it when he lost control of his rage at him killing Gamora to get the Soul Stone.
- While using her powers on Thanos and realizing that he was broken over sacrificing Gamora to get the Soul Stone, she was sorry for him.
- After Thanos succeed on getting all the Infinity Stones and he snap his fingers, she was worried about the half of the universe, just before later she become a victim of the Snap, along with Peter, Drax, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Bucky Barnes, Black Panther, Groot, Wanda Maximoff, Falcon, and many other heroes.
Avengers: Endgame[]
- After Hulk resurrected all the heroes Thanos have killed and he and his team needed help to stop past Thanos, she along with the other heroes assisted the Avengers to defeat Thanos and his army from doing the same mistake his original self did before.
- She was one of the many superhero girls who assisted Captain Marvel on getting the Infinity Stones to Ant-Man, although later Thanos destroyed the van.
- After Thanos’ ultimate defeat and death and Tony Stark sacrificed himself to save the universe, she along with the other heroes mourned and kneels his death.
- After Thanos’ death and Tony Stark’s sacrifice, she was one of the many superheroes who assisted at his funeral, along with the Guardians of the Galaxy.
- After Thor decided to leave New Asgard, let Valkyrie become its new ruler, and join the Guardians of the Galaxy, she returned back to her life of protecting the galaxy with him, Peter, Drax, Rocket, Groot, and Nebula as its new member since Gamora’s death.
Thor: Love and Thunder[]
- One year later, since Thanos’ defeat and Thor joined the Guardians of the Galaxy, she along with him, Peter, Drax, Rocket, Groot, Nebula, Kraglin, and Korg protected the galaxy from anyone villains and she even help Thor lose weight and get back into shape.
- After Habooksha and his army were attacking Indigarr, she along with Thor, Peter, Drax, Rocket, Groot, Nebula, and Korg fight them and save it from them, although Thor took all the credit for it and he accidentally destroyed the Sacred Temple.
- After receiving too many calls of help around the galaxy, after they were in danger from Gorr the God Butcher, she followed Peter’s plan to split up and save the multiple planets from Gorr, after he killed multiple gods.
- When Thor decided to leave the Guardians of the Galaxy to save Sif at Earth, she along with Peter, Drax, Rocket, Groot, and Nebula waved their last goodbye to him and Korg.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special[]
- After Thanos’ defeat and Knowhere was destroyed the last time he was there, she along with Peter, Drax, Rocket, Groot, and Nebula buy it from the Collector and rebuilt it to make it a home from extraterrestrial beings.
- When she first couldn’t tell the truth to Peter about being his sister, because his father Ego killed his mother and tried to kill them, she didn’t want to make him sad.
- She felt sorry for Kraglin’s backstory about Yondu ruining Peter’s Christmas forever, she decided to create a Christmas party and get a present for Peter to cheer him up, after Gamora’s death.
- She and Drax went to Earth to recruit the famous actor Kevin Bacon for Peter’s Christmas party at Knowhere.
- After meeting some fans of Hollywood, she and Drax make friends and take photos with them, even when they give to them money.
- When Drax threw a police car with some police officers inside, she was worried about them and she was relieved to see them alive and okay, and she give to them her candy cane, which was a Kevin Bacon’s Christmas decoration.
- After recruiting Kevin Bacon and buying enough Christmas stuffs to prepare the party, she along with Drax and Kevin Bacon went back to Knowhere to prepare the party.
- She, along with Drax, Rocket, Groot, Nebula, Kraglin, and everyone on Knowhere prepared to Peter the most special Christmas celebration for him, which liked it until later he was horrified and enraged after seeing Kevin Bacon being his Christmas gift.
- When Peter angrily ordered to her and the Guardians to return Kevin Bacon back home to Earth, she followed it, but later Kevin decided to stay at Knowhere to help them realize the true meaning of Christmas.
- When Kevin Bacon stayed at Knowhere to prepare the most special Christmas party, she along with the Guardians and everyone at Knowhere celebrated it, dancing and even giving presents to them, even her when she gave to Drax the balloon elf he lost before.
- After Kevin Bacon’s Christmas concert and he went back to Earth for the Christmas dinner with his family, she along with the Guardians waved their last goodbye to him.
- She apologized to Peter about the trouble she caused before and she even tell to him the truth about she is Peter’s sister, which make Peter being happier about Mantis being part of his family.

- After having Knowhere completely rebuilt and Peter was getting drunk because he was still sad about the original Gamora’s death and the past Gamora doesn’t remember her moments she had with him, she along with Drax, Rocket, Groot, and Nebula were worried about him.
- When Adam Warlock attacked Knowhere and he attempted to kidnap Rocket, she along with him, Peter, Drax, Groot, Nebula, and Kraglin stopped him and succeeded, although Rocket was completely injured and Adam escaped.
- After Rocket was completely injured by Adam Warlock and he was bleeding, she and Peter tried to use a medical pod to cure him, although later it was electrocuting and Nebula ordered them to take the medical pod off of him.
- After discovering that Rocket had a kill device on his body and they needed a code at Orgoscope to save him, she along with Peter, Drax, Groot, and Nebula went to Orgoscope to get the code and save Rocket, while Kraglin and Cosmo stayed to protect Knowhere.
- After having a talk with Peter about abandoning his grandfather for 38 years because of his mother’s death, she tried to convince him to return back to Earth to talk with him, although he refused at first because he believe his grandpa would have 96 years old and he probably had died.
- When the Ravagers assault the Bowie and they attempted to stole the things inside, she along with Peter and Drax tried to stop them, although later it was turned out to be the help call Nebula used to call past Gamora.
- After receiving special spacesuits to survive the Orgoscope outer space, she along with Peter, Drax, Nebula, and past Gamora went to Orgoscope to get the code and save Rocket.
- When she, Drax, and Nebula hear Peter’s sad speech to past Gamora about his life with him and she refused to believe, they were sorry for him.
- When she and the Guardians accidentally threw their spacesuits at the pollution canister inside the Orgoscope, she was worried for them.
- After the Orgoscope’s guards attempted to kill her and Drax, she tried to convince him to run away and save themselves, though Drax choose to fight them, she joined him to defend themselves from them.
- When Master Karja attacked and they injured Drax and Nebula, she tried to get them out of the Orgoscope, but later they were completely captured by Karja and the Orgoscope’s guards, until Peter saved them by activating the guards’ air suits to float and Groot managed to get them out inside the Bowie.
- After seeing Rocket’s tragic past about being tortured by the High Evolutionary for years, she along with Peter, Drax, Groot, Nebula, and past Gamora felt sadness for him.
- When discovering that the code was on the High Evolutionary’s minion Theel on his head device, she along with Peter, Drax, Groot, Nebula, and past Gamora (who disliked it) went to Counter-Earth to get it.
- When Peter, Groot, and Nebula went to get the code at the High Evolutionary’s ship, she followed Peter’s order to guard Drax to stay in the Bowie to protect Rocket from being captured.
- When Drax disobeyed the order and decided to go to the High Evolutionary’s ship and help fight him, she tried to convince him to stay at the Bowie to protect Rocket, though he disobeyed and fool her.
- Just when the High Evolutionary was about to explode and destroy Counter-Earth, and Nebula thought Peter and Groot were in trouble, she along with her and Drax went to the High Evolutionary’s ship to save them, though Peter and Groot managed to escape, captured Theel and get the code, and after getting inside they found children being kidnapped by the High Evolutionary.
- When Nebula angrily berates Drax for not staying at the Bowie to protect Rocket and she thought he and Gamora were dead, she defended him from her and telling her that Drax is part of their family because he loved and cared for them, despite his naivety and sadness for his past.
- After receiving Peter’s call and realized Rocket was alive, she along with Nebula and Drax were relieved and happy for him, just before the High Evolutionary captured them and threatened Peter to kill then if he doesn’t bring Rocket to him.
- After she and Nebula accidentally scared the children during their heated argument and Drax managed to calm them with his funny monkey noises, she played a funny part with him.
- When the High Evolutionary attempted to kill her, Nebula, and Drax by fed them to his trio of the Abilisks, she managed to redeem them and join forces with them to defeat the High Evolutionary, since, just like the other animals, they were afraid of him too.
- After finding Peter, Gamora, Rocket, and Groot, and convince them to go save the children from the High Evolutionary, she along with them, Drax and Nebula went to save the children and stop the High Evolutionary and his minions.
- While Nebula controlled the ship, she along with Peter, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Groot freed the children and helped them get to safety to Knowhere, after being piloted by Kraglin and Cosmo.
- When Cosmo was losing control of controlling the High Evolutionary’s ship, she used her empathy to motivate her and telling her that she is a good dog.
- When the High Evolutionary was attacking Rocket and he managed to defend himself, she along with Peter, Drax, Groot, Nebula, and past Gamora assisted Rocket by giving the High Evolutionary the well deserved punishment he deserved it by stabbing him and taking his face mask off of him and revealing the horrible alien being he is.
- While Rocket realized the animals needed to be saved (including his baby raccoon family), she along with Peter, Drax, Groot, Nebula, and past Gamora helped him save all the animals and get them to Knowhere too.
- When Peter accidentally entered to the vacuum of space and he was dying, she felt worry for him and later she was relieved when Adam Warlock saved his life, after he tried to kill the Guardians before, until Groot saved his life too at the ship and redeemed him.
- After the High Evolutionary’s defeat and ending his reign of terror, she decided to abandoned the Guardians and make her own choices since she spent all her life doing orders from Ego and the Guardians, while Peter decided to go to Earth with his grandfather, Nebula and Drax will rebuild a beautiful home for the children at Knowhere, and Rocket become the new captain of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
- After Rocket become the new captain and they all have a party at Knowhere, she waved her last goodbye to Drax meaning that she will miss him, just before she left Knowhere with her Abilisks to travel the galaxy.

- When she sometimes gets angry, she acts like a jerk, especially to Drax, every time he acts like a idiot or Nebula, when she gets angry too much, especially to the children that the High Evolutionary kidnapped.
