...Perhaps if I grabbed you and gave you a little sugar?
~ Madame Flurrie

Madame Flurrie is one of the characters from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door as well as its remake of the same name. She is a wind spirit who is also a famous stage actress up until she retired and lives in Boggly Woods where she befriended the Punies. She joins Mario during the second chapter in the game, making her Mario's third partner in the game, and has been with him since then.

Her Good Ranking[]

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]

  • While Mario does most of the work, Flurrie still helps him fight numerous foes and still takes part in saving many people.
  • Even though Flurrie is extremely hesitant about going out in public without her necklace, she is always happy to help her friends, especially the Punies when she gets it back.
  • While she did kiss Mario in gratitude when he makes it clear that he didn't want it, it was played for laughs and there is also the fact that she only does that to him only once, and it was her way of being grateful. Her Lip Lock ability that she uses against enemies is also played for comedy.
  • She blows off the invisible tarp blocking the secret entrance and takes the time to share her backstory with Mario while they wait for Punio to unlock the door from the inside.
  • Flurrie has also assisted with setting the trapped Punies free and defeated Lord Crump to prevent him from blowing up the Great Tree and making off with the Emerald Star.
  • She heads to the Pianta Syndicate to help Mario make a request to Don Pianta for tickets to ride the blimp to Glitzville to find the Gold Star and asserts to Don Pianta and his employees that the treasure behind The Thousand-Year Door is real and agreed to find his eloping daughter Francesca and her fiancé Frankie to find out where they are going. They were able to gain the tickets after the family drama settles.
  • When they see Rawk Hawk with the Champ's Belt that had a Crystal Star on it, they decide to join the Glitz Pit as fighters to make their way up the ranks to get it. After making it to the major league, they realize that the Crystal Star on the belt was fake and find themselves under an alliance with the mysterious "X" who instructs them to uncover the dark secrets of the Glitz Pit.
  • When they find that it was Grubba that has been draining power from the missing fighters including KP Pete and Bandy Andy, Flurrie confronts him and they were able to defeat him and when Jolene was revealed to be guiding them, she realized that she was worried for her brother Prince Mush as well, who turns out to be alive.
  • In Twilight Town, Flurrie helps fight against Doopliss (who is still unidentified) who has been turning Twilight Town residents and a few outsiders into pigs. Although after the battle, Goombella and the rest of the current partners unknowingly follow Doopliss now impersonating Mario while the real one was turned into a mere shadow. At the end of the chapter, she never realizes that she and the rest of the partners were fighting against the real Mario and the reformed Vivian until Doopliss was defeated and is legitimately shocked that the "Mario" they were following was a fake and is apologetic while Vivian hands Mario the Ruby Star.
  • After receiving an e-mail from Peach from what she learned about what the legendary treasure was (the spirit of an ancient demon that destroyed the now underground town) and bringing the Crystal Star to the Thousand-Year Door, she and the rest of the partners were considering destroying the Crystal Stars (the demon created the Crystal Stars and they can't distinguish good from evil) until Frankly warns them that the Thousand-Year Door's magical seal is weakening and the thousandth year and will return no matter what, which made them reconsider and find the remaining Crystal Stars since it can seal the monster away.
  • After they get Flavio on board with going to the island of Keelhaul Key and assemble the crew, but missing a navigator, they seek out Admiral Bobbery who was a sailor, but he is unwilling to set sail again, but they learn from the soda bartender that Bobbery is like this due to his beloved wife Scarlette passing away from illness during his voyage, Flurrie was sympathetic for him and agree to take the old letter she wrote to help Bobbery move on and sail again.
  • After being shipwrecked by the pirate king Cortez's ghostly crew and stranded on their intended destination, they managed to save an anxious Toad Sailor and Four-Eyes (really Crump in disguise) while Bobbery is left alone to deal with them, but the heroes turn back to also save Bobbery, who is injured and he requests his favorite beverage, the Chuckola Cola from Flavio as his last wish. He doesn't actually die but falls asleep until awakened, allowing him to join.
  • After getting through most of the Pirate's Grotto, she and the rest of the partners confront Cortez, who placed the island under a curse to have ghosts attack any ship that get too close and initially believed that they were after his treasure, they were able to best him in battle, until Cortez revealed that he is undead and can't truly be killed, until Mario explains that they were not looking for treasure, but for the Sapphire Star and he reveals that he never liked it and lets them have it.
  • After Four-Eyes revealed himself to be Lord Crump, who attacks the island to intimidate Mario and friends into handing him the Sapphire Star, but with Flavio's help in negotiating with Cortez and returning the Skull Gem to him, she helps to put Lord Crump in his place again.
  • When they went out to get train tickets to Poshley Heights to receive the next Crystal Stars, they find Don Pianta ill due to grief missing his daughter, Flurrie and Mario return to Keelhaul Key to find her and her new husband to let them know while also helping to find Francesca's wedding ring. This helps Don Pianta recover and retire while passing his leadership to Frankie and Francesca.
  • After unknowingly revealing where the next Crystal Star is to the hiding Beldam, they ride the Excess Express and after receiving a threatening note that involves immobilizing the train with a sticky explosion, they get the train conductor on tabs about the situation.
  • After they reveal that one of the passengers, Heff T. was responsible for stealing the chef's pot of stew, they agree to be Pennington's assistants in detective work, and they have solved cases that involved helping Bub receive an autograph from the engineer and returning an old diary to Ghost T. without reading it (trying to do so gives the player a Game Over), returning a blanket to the conductor. The next day, they were able to find that the famous Zip Toad (the real twist is that Doopliss was impersonating Zip Toad and recently joined the Shadow Sirens) was behind the threat and return the lost briefcase with the Nitro Honey Syrup, gold ring, and shell earrings to the Ratooie businessman, Toodles, and the waitress respectively.
  • At Riverside Station, the bridge was up and prevented the train, Flurrie helps Mario to find the switch to drop the bridge.
  • On the day the Excess Express was supposed to arrive, it was attacked by the Smorg that also took most of the passengers and staff prisoner which Flurrie helps Mario to destroy the monster to save the passengers, and they were fortunate that the "Garnet Star" that the Shadow Sirens stole from the Poshley Sanctum was fake and they find the real one in the Mirror Sanctum.
  • After finding out where the Crystal Star is, which is on the moon where Peach is also conveniently trapped as the princess states in her final e-mail, they leave for Fahr Outpost to negotiate with the local Bob-ombs to use the Big Bob cannon to reach the moon, but according to the mayor, they need permission from Goldbob in Poshley Heights and to locate General White, (who is also looking for Mario). After doing all that, they blast out of the giant cannon and storm through the X-Naut Fortress where they finally defeat Crump for the final time and gain the last Crystal Star.
  • Flurrie was greatly concerned upon meeting a barely functioning TEC-XX, who had its main power unit shut down by Sir Grodus for treason and is trying to stay operational via backup power while it informs Mario and the party that Grodus took Peach to the Palace of Shadow, while sending all remaining power to the teleporter to let them escape the fortress and tells Mario that they must save Peach for TEC's sake too.
  • They go through the Pit of 100 Trials where they fought many foes, including Bonetail, the oldest of the dragon trio.
  • With all of the Crystal Stars assembled, Flurrie and Mario as well as the rest of the party head for The Thousand-Year Door and finally opened it with the gems to enter the Palace of Shadow with the mission to stop the cataclysm.
  • She and her friends defeated Gloomtail, Hooktail's elder brother and after solving the Tower's riddles, they fought against the Shadow Sirens again to put them in their place.
  • They face Grodus in battle despite suffering a beatdown and end up facing Bowser and Kammy Koopa, who get in their way of saving the princess.
  • Flurrie expressed horror when Grodus summons the spirit of the Shadow Queen to possess Princess Peach, who is made the vessel for her, which starts the cataclysm of plunging the world into darkness along with earthquakes.
  • She instantly refused to serve the Shadow Queen which gets herself and her friends into battle with the queen, who becomes invincible, until the power of the Crystal Stars return to each region where they were found and every resident there began rooting for them and a light breaks the Shadow Queen's invulnerability, allowing them to destroy her and restore Peach to normal while also saving the entire world.
  • Flurrie tells Mario that she plans to finally make a comeback as she has received inspiration for her next play, and in Goombella's e-mail, she is back on stage and did a play based on their adventure called Paper Mario, and she did forgive Doopliss and has him join the troupe as an actor, which helps that he can transform into anything he wishes.

What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]

  • While Flurrie passed the general standards by saving the world, she fails the in-story standards as she is merely helping Mario. This is also accompanied by the fact that all of the other TTYD partners share their heroic actions with each other. Then again, she chooses to remain in the team that helps Mario get through obstacles to progress through the game and it is clear that Mario could not have done it all without her, with their special abilities allowing him to make it through all of the challenges, which makes it on the small side.
  • Flurrie has a bit of an ego, where she is so fussy over her looks that she won't leave until she makes sure to make her appearance more beautiful. During Goom Goom's trouble where he comments that she isn't his type, she will take offense and tells him that she is a prize to behold. Given that she is selfless for the most part, it is minor.
