M-O (full name: Microbe-Obliterator) is the tritagonist of Pixar's critically acclaimed film WALL-E.

He is a cleaning robot created with the purpose of cleaning off all foreign contaminant, with WALL-E's endless dirt leading him to rebelling against the line he was assigned too in order to clean up his messes.

He was voiced by Ben Burtt.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]

  • He was extremely dedicated to his job on the Axiom of cleaning all dirty robots, freeing them of all their "foreign contaminant".
  • He inadvertently saved WALL-E and EVE from being sucked into space, as EVE held onto him and caused the robots controlling the doors into space to close it.
  • He, along with the other "defective" robots, assisted WALL-E and EVE in getting the plant to the Holo Detector so that they can return to Earth and helped them fight the halt robots.
  • He found the plant after it was lost and had it thrown over to EVE so she could put it in the Holo Detector, managing to not only save WALL-E from being completely crushed, but also allowing the Axiom to return to Earth.
  • When WALL-E and EVE were having a moment, he shooed the other robots away along with himself so that they could be left in privacy.
  • While he initially had an antagonistic relationship with WALL-E, he ultimately came around to him after cleaning him, viewing him as a close friend by the end of the film and being extremely sad when AUTO crushed him with the Holo Detector.
  • Despite being a robot, he has a clear moral agency due to choosing to follow WALL-E and choosing to bring the Axiom back to Earth despite neither of them being his job.

What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]

  • He's a bit of a control freak, as he went off of his path to follow WALL-E so he could clean him, and even cleaned WALL-E's hand before giving him a handshake despite him already cleaning WALL-E.
  • While comparing him to EVE or Captain McCrea is unfair due to their higher resources, he still fails the admirable standard to WALL-E himself, who played a far more active role in allowing humanity to return to Earth with similar resources.
