Liu Kang is the champion and one of the main protagonists of the Mortal Kombat franchise. He is a Shaolin Monk and participates in the Mortal Kombat tournament under Raiden's guide.

- He is a pacifist who outright refuses to kill any of his opponents at the start.
- Enters the tenth Mortal Kombat tournament and wins it by defeating Goro and Shang Tsung.
- Defeats Shao Khan for killing his Shaolin Monk friends.
- When he dies, his spirit foes and enlist Ermac to fight Onaga.
- Tried to stop Raiden from killing Shang Tsung at apocalypse.
