Lieutenant Penumbra or just Penumbra is a supporting character in the 2017 DuckTales reboot series.
She is a young alien who after meeting Della, begins the path to reformation and by the end, manages to subvert her xenophobic and anti-heroic ways and plays a part in stopping General Lunaris from committing omnicide.
She was voiced by Julie Bowen.

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- Despite starting off as a xenophobe, she later subverts this prevention, and begins to respect the "Earthers".
- While she was considered an anti-hero at first. She subverts this as well after her redemption and consistently fights for the side of good.
- Despite her distaste towards Della at first, she warms up to her over time and they soon became close friends.
- Did not support General Lunaris's plan of pretending that Della had betrayed him to convince the other Moonlanders to rebel against Earth.
- Freed Donald from his imprisonment on the moon and helped him get back to Earth.
- Ultimately landed the final blow on Lunaris's ship, thus playing a big part in saving the world from being destroyed.
- Saved the nephews and Webby from a collapsing Ferris Wheel.
- Despite their awkward date, Penumbra shows no disdain towards Launchpad for this and even asks him to be her ally.
- Was one of the people to motivate Launchpad to turn into Gizmoduck in The Last Adventure.
What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]
- Despite largely redeeming herself, she is still a tad mean, as seen when she takes pride in saving the kids from the collapsing Ferris Wheel.

- She, along with Lena Sabrewing, Darkwing Duck and Gosalyn Waddlemeyer are one of four DuckTales reboot Near Pure Goods to not be part of the McDuck Family.
