His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- Was a father figure to King Runeard's son Agnarr, who was neglected by his evil father. Dr. Destin Mattiason Raised Agnarr and taught him the ways of the world. Agnarr would later wish Mattias had been his father.
- Protected Agnarr during the Battle of the Dam, when not even his father was looking out for him.
- Served Arendelle for 34 years though he was trapped in the Enchanted Forest by a cursed mist that might never dissipate.
- Is sad to learn his old love Halima hasn't gotten married in his absence, even though he himself loves her. This shows that he truly just wants her to be happy.
- Is immediately ready to go against the word of his deceased evil King when he learns that the dam must be destroyed. Even though he's wished to go back to his home for decades, he's willing to let it be flooded if it saves the future of the Arendellians and the Northuldrans.
- Saves both Anna and Kristoff from falling to death.
- While he did briefly attempt to stop Anna from destroying the dam, he didn't really know King Runeard's true nature at the time. In fact, once he learns the truth, he helps her.
- Despite his seriousness, he never darkens the story and is portrayed lightly.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He fails the admirable standard compared to Anna with similar resources to her (who sacrificed her life to save Elsa from her ex-boyfriend, Hans and destroyed the Dam to free the forest).
Trivia[]
- Lieutenant Mattias is the first ever Near Pure Good to be proposed.
