NOTE: This is a composite profile of both mainstream versions of Leia Organa being her Canon and Legends counterparts where both incarnations take different directions in their storylines with the Star Wars Original Trilogy, Prequel Trilogy and Star Wars: The Clone Wars Seasons 1-6 serving as the only exceptions. |
Leia Organa, (born Leia Amidala-Skywalker, later Leia Organa-Solo, and commonly referred to as simply Princess Leia), is one of the main characters of the Star Wars franchise.
She is the princess of her planet Alderaan, the sister of Luke Skywalker, the daughter of Anakin Skywalker and Padme Amidala, the wife of Han Solo, and the mother of Ben Solo from modern continuity and Jacen, Jaina and Anakin Solo in the EU continuity.
She was portrayed by the late Carrie Fisher in both the original trilogy and sequel trilogy and Vivien Lyra Blair who plays her younger self.
Her Good Ranking[]
What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]
In General[]
- Despite the high admirable standard, her work for the Rebellion's been invaluable and she literally created the Resistance.
- Unlike Anakin and Luke, she's obviously incorruptible. She'd never join Palpatine or try to kill her own family member. At the end of the day, she just wants to protect innocent people and make sure the dark side doesn't rule the galaxy.
Obi-Wan Kenobi[]
- Even as a little girl, she helps lots of refugees escape by breaking a harness around herself.
A New Hope[]
- She has already been a successful leader in the Rebellion for years.
- Instead of escaping the besieged Tantive IV, she sent R2-D2 and C-3PO away with the Death Star plans and then holding off the stormtroopers for as long as she can. In her message to Obi-Wan, she asks him only to deliver the plans to her father to help the Rebellion and given her surprised reaction to the rescue mission, she clearly wasn't expecting it.
- She enlisted the help of Obi-Wan.
- She refuses to sell out her allies, even when the Empire tortures her and obliterates her home planet.
- When Luke and his friends rescue her, she helps them escape. She also innocently kisses Luke on the cheek "for luck".
- She guilt-trips Han so much that he comes back and helps win the Battle of Yavin.
The Empire Strikes Back[]
- She helps evacuate everyone on Hoth when the Empire turns up.
- She keeps trying to see the good in Han, eventually kissing him before they're interrupted by none other than C-3PO.
- She forgives Lando so they can fight for a common goal.
- She saves Luke when he nearly falls into the gaseous abyss of Bespin.
- She brings Luke to the Rebel Alliance Navy in favor of giving him a new mechanical hand.
Return of the Jedi[]
- She saves Han from carbonite and kills Jabba the Hutt. In hindsight, this results in Tatooine becoming a nicer place when Boba Fett rules with respect in lieu of fear. And while Jabba's death was brutal, it was 100% warranted, as he was an objectifying misogynist who had made her wear an uncomfortable bikini with a chain on her neck. It is also poetic since Jabba made slavery legal and Leia's dad was born into slavery.
- She befriends Wicket, which indirectly leads to the Rebels teaming up with the Ewoks.
- She helps destroy the shield bunker.
After Return of the Jedi[]
- Now that the galaxy can go back to a Republic, Leia becomes a prominent Senator, like her mother before her. She's only kicked out because Darth Vader's her dad, which is really unfair.
- She tries to be a good mother to Ben, and while she sends him to Luke, it's only because she genuinely believes it's best for him.
- She lets Luke train her in lightsaber combat.
- She founds the Resistance when the New Republic won't admit the First Order is out of control.
- In spite of Ben turning to the Dark side of the Force, she still cared for her son.
The Last Jedi[]
- She leads lots of Resistance members in evacuating D'Qar. She also demotes Poe for severely mistreating Vice Admiral Holdo.
The Rise of Skywalker[]
- She trained Rey to become a Jedi.
- She saved her son Ben from the dark side by sacrificing her own life. In hindsight, saving Ben's life allows him to play a crucial role in defeating the evil Darth Sidious once and for all.
What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]
- She has her moments of acting abrasive, snappish, and haughty, such as calling Chewbacca a walking carpet when he'd never done anything to her, angrily criticizing Han several times when he was just trying to get her off the Death Star, calling him a "laser brain" and a "scruffy nerf herder", and kissing Luke on the lips without his consent when he was innocently minding his own business at the time. While she's generally very friendly and this jerkishness can be rationalized by reeling from Alderaan's unspeakable fate and receiving unwanted male attention from Solo respectively, it's still too petty and unwarranted for a Pure Good character.
Trivia[]
- Stanford and Stanley Pines, and she and Luke Skywalker are the only 2 sets of twins currently classified as Near Pure Good and Inconsistently Admirable on this wiki.
