Lancer is a major Character in Deltarune, serving as one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Susie) of Chapter 1 and a supporting character in Chapter 2.
He's the prince of the Card Kingdom and the son of King. Originally a self-proclaimed bad guy, he would redeem himself and help his friends fight against his tyrannical father.
His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- Even when a villain, he was always friendly and polite towards Kris and Ralsei, and good friends with Susie.
- While he did have the Delta Warriors arrested so they could be kept in prison for eternity, it was only because he didn't want them to fight King, knowing they would kill each other.
- He let Susie attack and almost kill him just because he didn't want to hurt her.
- He convinced Susie to redeem herself through explaining his motives for locking her up, which made her feel enough sympathy for him - combined with her liking him already - to try and spare his father instead of attacking him.
- Following Susie's redemption, he went to his father to try to convince him into sparing the Lightners.
- He saved the Delta Warriors' lives from King.
- Following this, he would warn his people about the fight. Depending on the ending, one of these would happen:
- The player has defeated everyone by sparing them: Lancer leads a group of at least 41 Darkners to overthrow his father and put in jail.
- The player has defeated even a single foe by violence: Lancer warns his friends about the group of Darkners that are trying to defend their ruler and kill the Lightners.
- If the player got the latter ending, then Chapter 2 will start with Lancer pardoning the entire group for their deeds in Chapter 1.
- He breaks Kris, Susie and Berdly out of jail.
- He helps Susie redeem Berdly by showing that they can be his friends and that he doesn't have to pretend to be smart to be liked by people.
- Even when being slowly turned to stone, he tries to reassure Susie he's fine.
- He quickly befriends and forgives Queen for arresting his friends when they return to Castle Town, culminating in him being adopted by her.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He has his moments of being a jerk to others, such as repeatedly calling Kris and Ralsei clowns, calling Berdly the bluebird of crappiness, or calling Rouxls Kaard a sad clown. Though given it’s often in a playful sense, especially shown towards the heroes at the end, it’s a minor prevention.

- He and Berdly are the only Toby Fox NPG to be from Deltarune.
