The difference between the novice and the master is that the master has failed more times than the novice has tried.
~ Korosensei
From a traveler to another traveler a yell - for all of life.
~ His final words before being killed by Class-3E
First you take the planet Earth, round and blue and green, and floating over Tokyo you drop a giant bean. Put another one in Sichuan China, what a sheen. Taking off from Dubai to Hawaii at Mach 20 leave contours as you fly, double back across the southern hemisphere over the Philippines once again to old Dubai, and then back to Hawaii drawing lines of latitude every 25 degrees along the way….and there you have it! Koro se-en-sei!
~ Korosensei’s drawing song.

Korosensei is one of the two overarching protagonists (alongside Aguri Yukimura) of the anime/manga series Assassination Classroom. He takes on the role of teacher for Class 3-E at Kunugigaoka Junior High School. After claiming responsibility for forming the permanent crescent moon, he announces his intention to destroy Earth after a year of teaching.

He was transformed from a normal human to a yellow tentacled monster through experiments after being betrayed by his apprentice. While under captivity, he developed feelings for Aguri Yukimura, the original teacher of Class 3-E, and vows to honor her memory after her tragic death by using his powers for good. He becomes the new teacher to watch over and guide her students during his remaining year of life.

In the Japanese version, he is voiced by Jun Fukuyama who also voices Ren Amamiya from the Persona 5 series, and in the English Version, he’s voiced by Sonny Strait, who voices Maes Hughes from Full Metal Alchemist.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]

  • Prior to being transformed due to experiments, he was a very lethal assassin that killed numerous people. However, since he subverts these qualities and declares that he'll only use his newfound powers for good, this doesn't hold up as a prevention.
  • He's a caring and compassionate teacher who tailored his lessons to fit each student's individual strengths and weaknesses.
  • He risked his life multiple times to protect his students, guiding them in dangerous situations and fighting off threats, such as the attempted assassins at the Island Resort.
  • He became Class 3-E's teacher to fulfill Aguri's dying wish that he looks after her students.
  • After Aguri's death, he vowed to use his powers for good.
  • He sacrificed himself to protect his students, allowing them to kill him, and claim the $10 billion bounty on his head.
  • His influence changed the lives of the people around him for the better, inspiring Nagisa to become a teacher.

What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]

  • He can act perverted at times and is easily flustered by beautiful women, so much so that Nagisa considers it one of his main weaknesses. He was especially perverse towards Irina when they first meet, he massages her, changes her clothes, and did "weird things with his tentacles". Although, she was perfectly fine with it and he never harassed anyone, meaning his perversion is played entirely for comedy/mischief.
