Her Good Ranking[]
What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- As they grew up in Azra she promised her brother Sunny that she would always protect him, and later protects him from the Black Lotus attempt on their lives by sealing his Gift inside his mind in order to prevent the Black Lotus from being able to track him, and she proceeded to use her Gift in order to fight off the Black Lotus members so that Sunny and Pilgrim could escape.
- When they were children and Sunny would spar with children, he would extremely aggressive and often hurt Pilgrim, but Kannin would step in and scold Sunny for being too harsh on Pilgrim as she knew that Pilgrim looked up to Sunny as a brother.
- Unlike the other children of Azra, Kannin was aware that her and Sunny's father Dante alongside the other elders of Azra planned to take over the entire world using the Gift, and was against it, but still stayed in order to protect her brother.
- While she becomes a mindless killer after joining the Black Lotus, this is a result of Magnus repeatedly torturing and raping her until she was fully obedient to the organizations goals. After being reunited with Sunny years later she is finally broken out of her brainwashing and frees both Sunny and Bajie from the Black Lotus prison they are being held in.
- After it becomes clear that Pilgrim has lost his mind and wishes to fulfill Dante's original goal of destroying the world in the name of Azra, Kannin confronts him and tells him that he should end his conquest. When this does not dissuade him, she attempts to defeat him in combat
- She tells Cressida, a blood witch that follows Pilgrim, that if she uses her abilities to look into the future then she will see the danger that Pilgrim truly poses. Cressida takes Kannin's advice and has a vision of a future where Pilgrim has destroyed everything and even killed her, leading to her abandoning him altogether.
- Once she loses to Pilgrim in combat and has her Gift removed by him, she returns to the Badlands to warn Sunny of the power Pilgrim has reached. When she learns that Sunny has gone to meet with the Black Lotus to ask for their help in defeating Pilgrim, she goes to help Sunny as she knows that Magnus will refuse the offer and try to kill Sunny anyways. She helps Sunny defeat Magnus in combat and ultimately kills him, finally breaking free of Magnus' control over her and saving her brother's life.
- She reveals to the rest of the Black Lotus that their commander is dead, and explains that they must work together in order to defeat Pilgrim if they want to survive. This leads to the Black Lotus finally beginning to redeem itself and change for the better, as with Magnus dead they no longer have a reason to kill innocent people but rather fight to protect the world from danger.
- In the final battle for the Badlands she faces Pilgrim alongside Sunny and Bajie, stabbing two hooks into his back in order to give Sunny and Bajie an opportunity to render him immobile and finally defeat him for good.
- After Sunny kills Pilgrim but dies in the process, Kannin and Bajie give him a spiritual funeral, with her saying a prayer to her deceased brother, wishing that his soul finds peace in the world beyond theirs.
What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]
- Upon her initial freedom from the Black Lotus control, she attempts to deceive Sunny by telling him she knows of a way to defeat Pilgrim, only to lead him to a Black Lotus boat and requests that he sail back to Azra with her. When he refuses, she tries to threaten him into doing it, but he calls her bluff and walks away, as he isn't willing to abandon the fight against Pilgrim or his son Henry. It's worth noting that Kannin nearly immediately after this goes to try and stop Pilgrim herself, and later joins the war against him, so this is a minor prevention.
