Kanji Tatsumi is one of the main characters and party members of the Persona 4 sub-series within the Persona series.
He is a first year at Yasogami High and, despite his looks, is the youngest of the team (or at least one of the youngest). Around Inaba, he is known for being an infamous delinquent, despite it being revealed he has a heart of gold and is a very sweet guy. He is the second victim to be pushed into the TV World, with him joining the Investigation Team after they rescue him and confront his Shadow.
In Japanese, he is voiced by Tomokazu Seki. In English, he was voiced by Troy Baker and later Matthew Mercer, the latter of whom voices Yusuke Kitagawa.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- Though he eventually resorted to use brute force and his tough facade resulted the authorities to confuse him with them, he drives away a biker gangs who cause ruckus near his home.
- He assists the rest of Investigation Team in saving Rise Kujikawa and Naoto Shirogane after they pushed into the TV World.
- Although more apparent in manga adaptation, he even inspires the latter not to let labels, stereotypes, and people's prejudice shaped who she is upon learning why Naoto posed as a boy while building her reputation as "Detective Prince", having faced a similar issue where he put up tough guy façade to hide his talent in sewing, knitting, arts and crafts which others dismissed as "not manly" in his own words.
- He aids in defeating the Shadow form of Mitsuo Kubo, a creepy student who kills the school teacher Mr. Morooka and frames himself as the murder culprit solely for fame and attention.
- He helps take down Kunino-Sagiri, the form that Taro Namatame takes after fusing with other Shadows in the TV World and saves the protagonist's cousin Nanako Dojima.
- He helps in defeating Tohru Adachi, the true culprit behind the murders, as well as Ameno-sagiri, a spirit that possesses Adachi, and thus saves all of humanity from being turned into Shadows.
- He also helps defeat Izanami, a deity that orchestrated the game's events by giving the protagonist, Adachi and Namatame their Personas, who was following Adachi's plan of wiping out humanity.
- In the updated rerelease Persona 4 Golden, he aids in defeating Kusumi-no-Okami, and rescuing Marie.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- Because of his tough-guy persona, he can have a short temper and be kind of a jerk at times.
- He arguably fails the admirable standards, as he kind of just does the same thing as the rest of his team and fails to stand out from within them. However, he joined relatively early on, so he doesn't fail too hard.
