K-2SO is the tritagonist of the Rogue One, a spin off movie from the Star Wars franchise.
He is a reprogrammed droid from the Galactic Empire, serving under the Rebel Alliance as Cassian Andor's partner. He helps him with the mission to get to the Empire engineer Galen Erso, by first rescuing his daughter, Jyn Erso, from Imperial cluthces. However, he and Andor end up in a much more complicated situation when the mission is revealed to involve a secret element in the mission, installed by Galen himself in his newest Imperial weapon, leading to them joining forces with Jyn to bring it to the Alliance.
He was voiced by Alan Tudyik.
His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- Becomes, after his reprogrammation, a loyal member of the Rebel Alliance and Cassian Andor's best friend.
- He stopped Jyn Erso from fleeing when he and Cassian came to free her, as she was essential to their mission.
- While obivously a joke, he did warn Cassian that Jyn could blast him, so giving her a blaster was not wise.
- He saved the lives of Andor and Erso duering the battle at the Sacred City.
- Scorted Jyn and Cassian pretending to be a loyal Imperial droid, and trying to prevent them from being taken from him when questioned by a Stormptrooper.
- He stayed at the ship, and when the Death Star fired at the city, rescued everybody from Gevara's hideout.
- He warned the Rebel Alliance of Andor's actions, saying that there were allies on the area and the Alliance attack should be delayed.
- He congratuled Bodhi Rook when he shot down an Imperial ship flying straight towards them.
- Was on Jyn's side when she rallied people to go to Scariff to get the Death Star plans.
- Infiltrated the main station alongside Jyn and Cassian, pretending to be a normal Emprie droid. Once in there, used his compatibility with the systems in there to open the vault.
- Searched for the plans by word in the system as Cassian and Jyn tried looking for them, until he found it after Jyn suggested looking up "Stardust".
- He held off troops of Stormtroopers that were storming his position, and eventually locked Cassian and Jyn's vault entrance to protect them while taking down the enemies, in order to allow them to get the plans. He also explained that they had to broadcast them from the tower and with the shields down before dying.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He has an ocasionally jerkish personality, where he gives out cyinical statistics that clearly no one wants to hear, berate others and lightly insults or snarks at his allies, particularly Jyn and Cassian.
- Fails the admirable standarts to Bodhi Rook, who got Galen's message out of the Empire so his efforts could pay off, and to R2-D2, who is a weaker droid who did more throughout the movies.
- Has moral agency issues since he was reprogrammed to help the Rebellion, though the amount of personality he shows makes this minor.
