Near Pure Good Hero Wiki

Friends, we are in a church. The Dei would appreciate it if you let this go, as I have. Now, then, I presume you're all here to ask about the Spectrum Game?
~ Jude's first line.
Once I heard about the Spectrum Game, I thought it'd be the golden opportunity to learn more - a lesson in self-awareness, you could call it. But, alas; I was made an Observer. I suppose now, I'd like to help as many people as I can. I want to make people happy, like Azurine…but that's not easy, with my duties as both a priest and an Observer. People not in the faith don't tend to appreciate the things I do for them, and that's kinda upsetting. Maybe I'll get my chance in the next Game, when we're all moved to a different country and nobody knows my face…
~ Jude opening up to Silas about his hypothetical wish in the Spectrum Game.

Jude Williams is a minor character in The Spectrum Game and a deeply religious man, acting as a childhood friend to Silas Landkeep and Azurine Lovell. A priest working in Luster Street, Jude also acts as an Observer in the Game, offering advice and help to the heroes when they meet him and watching the Spectrums in their efforts to play the game.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]

  • Despite not having much freedom because of his duties, he always tries to help other people whenever he can.
  • He frequently donates to his starving home country of Freesia, using canned food that he has Silas and Azurine deliver to him.
  • During the characters' Initiation processes, he encourages them to open up about their respective wishes and dilemmas, making sure to put them at ease and gently guide them through the process.
  • He shows himself to be a genuinely good friend to Silas and Azurine, acting supportive and encouraging of their endeavours.
  • Though he does experience feelings of envy towards Iago and the Spectrums, he never lets this negatively impact his overall opinion or interactions with them.
  • Worried about Scarlett and Valerie being Spectrums due to their allegiance to Libera, he asks that the others keep an eye on them for him. He holds no grudge, however, as after Scarlett redeems herself, he is just as accepting of her as everyone else.
  • Though he is shown to be strict with Iago, it is justified, as Iago had not only abandoned his duties as an Observer to be a Spectrum instead, but he used his Observer powers to force Inigo to partner up with him, both flagrant rule violations that Jude showed mercy by letting him off with a warning for instead of reporting him.
  • In his third appearance, he personally contacts the Dei, who run the Game, to allow the heroes to change their outfits, which they have been forbidden from doing since it began.
  • When Grant Monarich attacks Luster Street, he helps Silas and Azurine fend off his troops when they enter the church, stopping them from joining the fight outside, and forces him to exit the building after Scarlett stands up to him.
  • Once Grant mounts a solo attack on the town in an attempt to destroy it, while Scarlett, Inigo and Azurine hold him, Jude, leading Silas and Makoto, helps search for, heal and protect the survivors of his rampage, an act that is shown to end in success as they manage to save everyone who wasn't already killed by him.

What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]

  • He is incredibly mischievous to the point of occasionally crossing over into jerk territory, as he occasionally leverages minor violence in the way of others for the sake of humour. With that said, it is usually harmless, and he never seriously endangers or upsets anyone, so it is a minor prevention.
