~ Joe on upholding Bruce Wayne's legacy. |
Joseph "Joe" Collins is the titular main protagonist of the Elseworlds one-shot comic, Batman: I, Joker. A freedom fighter working to overthrow the Batman cult that rules Gotham City, he finds himself altered into a physical and mental duplicate of the Joker before escaping with his original memories intact and a fighting chance to end the cult.
His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- He was genuinely in love with Marya before and after his transformation.
- He led a resistance against the tyranny of the Bruce.
- While he killed Dar, it was necessary to keep him from revealing the secret location of the Batcave.
- He felt remorse for the death of one of the cultists and didn't try to kill his wife even as she shot at him. Even though his gun was full of blanks, Joe had no way of knowing that at the time.
- He challenged the Bruce to end his rule and save Marya from him.
- After defeating the Bruce, he tried to spare his life to get him to admit to the crowd that he was a fraud.
- When the crowd of cultists starts cheering him on, Joe tried to tell the crowd that he wasn't a god.
- He became the new Batman to uphold Bruce Wayne's legacy and continue to protect Gotham City alongside Marya.
- He lacks most of the corrupting qualities that Bruce Wayne has.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- Even after breaking free of his Joker programming, Joe still makes dark humor wisecracks, making him minorly mischievous and a minor heroic jerk.
Trivia[]
