| ~ Janet regarding the Quantum Realm. |
Janet van Dyne, also known as the Wasp, is the overarching protagonist of the Ant-Man trilogy and a minor character in Avengers: Endgame.
She is portrayed by Michelle Pfeiffer.
Her Good Ranking[]
What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]
In General/Background[]
- According to Bill, Janet was the only one able to withstand Hank's enormous ego and remained patient with him.
- During her time as the Wasp, she helped her husband stop multiple criminals and saved many lives.
- She sacrificed herself by going subatomic to shrink between the molecules of a Soviet missile to deactivate it from the inside, saving millions of lives in the process.
- After reading Kang's memories and learning of his past as a multiveral conqueror, she sacrificed her only chance of escaping the Quantum Realm to stop him by rendering his power core too large to operate.
Ant-Man and the Wasp[]
- Even though she possessed Scott, she only did it to communicate with her husband and daughter, relinquishing her control immediately after Hope and Hank found out her location.
- She reunited with her husband, Hank Pym, and daughter, Hope.
- She stopped her daughter from attacking Ghost despite knowing she almost killed her.
- She noted the pain Ava is experiencing, apologizing and curing her, holding her hand as she's in disbelief.
- Alongside Hank, Scott and Hope, she attempted to find a permanent cure for Ghost.
- She manages to stand out despite her limited screen-time.
Avengers: Endgame[]
- She attended Tony Stark's funeral out of respect.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania[]
- She tried to stop Cassie's signal to the Quantum Realm fearing Kang will pick it up.
- She protected Hank and Hope and led them to safety.
- After learning that Scott and Cassie were captured by Kang's M.O.D.O.K, she along with Hank and Hope hijack a spaceship to go save them.
- She tells Hank and Hope about Kang and her encounter with him during her stay in the Quantum Realm, apologizing for having kept it a secret for so long and for having let Kang take over when she escaped.
- She convinced Scott not to give Kang's power core back to him to save Cassie, knowing full well that Kang wouldn't keep his word about letting her go.
- She along with her family, the Langs and the inhabitants of the Quantum Realm defeat Kang, ending his reign of terror on the multiverse.
What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]
- She fails the admirable standards compared to Black Widow given that she had a more active role in stopping Thanos and defeating General Dreykov with less resources considering that she only had the Black Widow's Bite outside being a trained human.
- During her 30 year stay in the Quantum Realm, she occasionally slept with Krylar, which means that she cheated on her husband Hank. While this doesn't really have a big impact on the plot and Hank never showed misgivings, making this a minor prevention, this is still too unfaithful for a Pure Good character and she also never showed remorse for cheating on him.
Trivia[]
- She, along with her whole family, is Near Pure Good. In addition, she and her husband fail the admirable standards to their daughter, Hope, and her boyfriend, Scott Lang.
