James Worthington "Jim" Gordon is the main protagonist in the live-action TV series Gotham. He is currently GCPD's commissioner, who sought to solve the crimes in Gotham.

He was portrayed by Ben McKenzie.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]

  • During the first encounter with Bruce Wayne, Jim comforted him that he would find his parents' killer.
  • He saved Penguin's life by faking his death and trying to get him to stay out of Gotham.
  • During his events from a cop to a commissioner, he defeated various villains such as the Pure Evil Valeska brothers.
  • He tried to stop Hugo Strange’s virus bomb from going off and infecting the city, but sadly failed.
  • Cured Lee Thompkins from Alice Tetch's virus while being infected by it.
  • Cared for his wife, allowing Barbara's redemption, and protected his people during the town's danger.
  • Initially, he started as an anti-hero, but he later subverted this trait as he became the town's commissioner.
  • Tried to save Jerome Valeska despite the latter being a Pure Evil.
  • After No Man's Land which was perpetuated by Ra's al Ghul and Jeremiah Valeska that left Gotham cut off from the mainland, Jim actively helps to govern the city and protect innocents from criminals.
  • While he may be one of the characters with the highest kill count, they are all considered to be last resort and necessary.

What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]

  • One of the instances of his prevention was him allowing Penguin to submit Galavan's fate, rather than stopping it. This would make him minor lethal.
