Flame on...
~ Jonathan before setting the whole Symbionte on fire.

Jonathan Storm, better known as Human Torch, is a major character in the Marvel Comics graphic novel, The Spider's Shadow, which, in the Marvel Universe, takes place on Earth-21619. He, like most versions, is a member of the superhero group Fantastic Four, and gained fire manipulation powers after being exposed to cosmic energy. He is a very important member of the heroes' battle against one of the vilest versions of the Venom Symbionte.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]

  • Like the original, he is a superhero who always helps protect the world from threats.
  • He tries to help Reed convince Spider-Man he should get that black suit off.
  • While he ma have gone a bit too far, he is reasonable in being angry with Spider-Man, mostly because his own stubborness caused the events of the story.
  • He participated in the plan to invade and retake the Baxter Building.
  • He saved Mary Jane, who Venom tried to kill as a mind trick in order to make Spider-Man desperate and gain control over him again.
  • He was terrified and sad when Reed was brutally killed in front of him.
  • He defeated the Symbionte by disgusing himself as Peter Parker and, when the Symbionte got all over him to posses him, activating his flames and burning it to death once and for all.
  • His actions also freed all mind-controlled superhero's and stopped the Symbionte's offspring to go after people in New York.

What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]

  • Like his original counterpart, he can be overall jerkish at times, especially when he called Spider-Man out. While the action itself isn't wrong, he was way more aggressive than needed, especially considering Peter felt heavy remorse for what he did with the suit and the suit tempered with his moral agency, so it wasn't all his fault.
