He was voiced by Bradley Clarkson.
His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
In General/Background[]
- Before the events of the story, he and Yujin Mikotoba both worked on numerous cases together.
- When Yujin Mikotoba brought an infant Iris Wilson to him for Herlock to adopt, Herlock adopted her without a second thought and raised her to what she is in the duology.
- He was generally supportive of Iris' career as a writer, although he forbade her from making a story based on the Hound of the Baskervilles due to the risk of accidentally revealing that she is Klint Van Zieks' daughter.
- After finding out about John Wilson's death and after listening to a telegram from England to Japan that said the names K. Asogi, A.Shinn, T. Gregson, and J Wilson. Sholmes thought the other three were supposed to be killed in some conspiracy, so he informed Yujin about this, and after Yujin wrote him a letter that told him that Kazuma Asogi was travelling to England on the SS Burya, Herlock decided to board the ship and stop Asogi from being assassinated.
The Great Ace Attorney: Adventure[]
- In the SS Burya, he taught Ryunosuke the Dance of Deduction to improve his observation skills and assisted him to prove his innocence.
- After the case of Kazuma's apparent death was resolved, he convinced Ryunosuke to subsititute Kazuma as the exchange student.
- To protect Kazuma, he made everyone believe that the accident that led to his apparent death actually killed him and secretly saved him afterwards.
- He then secretly told Nikolina Pavlova and the SS Burya's crew that Kazuma was alive and made efforts to get Nikolina a refuge in the United States.
- After finding out Naruhodo and Susato had nowhere to stay in London, Sholmes allowed them to stay in the attic in his flat at Baker Street free of rent.
- He was helpful to Ryunosuke and Susato when they were investigating for their cases.
- Despite getting injured and hospitalised, Sholmes still delivered the decisive piece of evidence to Naruhodo in Gina's trial that proved that Graydon was the culprit before collapsing from exhaustion.
The Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve[]
- He disarms the bomb that Enoch Drebber set off in his workshop saving Ryunosuke, Susato, Gina, Gregson, Drebber himself, and Toby the dog from dying.
- He and Yujin find Seishiro Jigoku after he tries to flee from London and bring him back to court which allowed Barok's innocence to be proven and it started the chain of events where Stronghart would be revealed as the Reaper of the Bailey.
- He convinces the gallery to appeal to continuing the trial after Stronghart tried to end it forcefully to avoid conviction. He also brought some important witnesses to the court like Yujin Mikotoba, Maria Gorey, Daley Vigil and Barry Caidin.
- He and Iris set up a hologram in the courtroom that allowed Queen Victoria to observe the trial and get Stronghart legally arrested for his crimes after he attempted to escape justice.
- After Gina had lost the will to keep going on with being an inspector due to Gregson's death, Herlock gave her Gregson's pocket watch and told her to keep it and carry on her boss's will which gave Gina the will to keep working as an inspector.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He can be arrogant at times, such as him calling The Yard "a place full of inferior minds" and if Yujin gets a deduction wrong on the ship, Herlock tells him "with that kind of deduction you are dead to me".
- He can be mischievous and rude at times as even Iris says he can be blunt at times, shown when he laughed at Ryunosuke for getting knocked out by Toby the dog licking him, or shown when he annoys others knowingly since he himself says "sometimes I wonder how others stand me".
