Haruo Sakaki is the main antagonist of the Godzilla anime trilogy.
In the Japanese version, he is voiced by Mamoru Miyano and in the English dub, he is voiced by Chris Niosi.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- Throughout the trilogy, he attempted to retake Earth back from Godzilla.
- Although he started off as hot headed and reckless in the first film, by the end of the trilogy he eventually subverted it, with him being more considerate of and more nicer towards his crew and their livelihoods. An example of this being him apologizing to the surviving members for unintentionally getting the others killed by Godzilla Earth and endangering the survivors by dragging them into it in the first place as a result of his recklessness, even giving them the choice to go back to the autrium if they didn’t want to participate before discussing his and Bilusaludo’s new plan to use nanometal to defeat Godzilla.
- When Godzilla Earth showed up, he had his forces retreat rather than fight it.
- Informed his crew that Miana meant no harm Saved Yuko from getting killed by one of the servum.
- Rather than let Mechagodzilla city assimilate earth into Nanometal, he instead choose to destroy it and maintain his humanity, despite the fact that it was the only thing capable of stopping Godzilla.
- Shattered Garbetrium crystal with his thumb, allowing Godzilla to eventually defeat King Ghidorah and prevent him from destroying Earth as a result of the latter being affected by his dimension's laws.
- Following King Ghidorah’s defeat, he allowed Godzilla to kill him and Yuko (presumably out of mercy due to her having been practically brain dead as a result of the nanometal) by flying in the remaining Falcon near him in order to prevent King Ghidorah from returning and destroying more planets if he ever gave into vengeance as well as end humanity’s cycle of vengeance.
- He stands out for preventing Mechagodzilla city from assimilating earth and into nanometal (something that was shown to be extremely painful towards life that wasn’t the bilusaludo) and helping Godzilla defeat Ghidorah, as well as preventing Ghidorah from ever returning.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He is still somewhat too vengeful, so much so that he lets Godzilla kill him so that he wouldn’t unwittingly cause King Ghidorah to return by giving into vengeance.
