~ Harold Hutchins |
Harold Mitchell Hutchins is one of the two main protagonists (alongside George Beard) of Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie, an animated adaptation of the popular Captain Underpants book series.
He is a prankster in Jerome Horwitz Elementary, who makes the school happier and more bearable with his pranks, and also likes to create comics alongside his best friend, George.
He was voiced by Thomas Middleditch.
His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- His and George's pranks are FAR more harmless and playful when compared to the ones of the books and TV series and made with the sole purpose of making children support the harsh, and sometimes intentionally mean treatment they receive and Jerome Horwitz Elementary.
- He loves George and wanted to prevent them from being separated.
- Unlike their book counterparts, George and Harold seem to genuinely enjoy Captain Underpants' presence, though they still sometimes get frustrated with his antics. Granted while they did try to get rid of Mr. Krupp's hypnosis by destroying the 3-D Hypno ring, they thought it was for the best and even then they felt really bad over it. Furthermore, they weren't against the revelation that the Captain Underpants persona was still alive even if they were surprised by it.
- While he and George stole a crane and mostly broke many traffic laws when driving it to get Captain Underpants who is bouncing on a giant inflatable ape, nearly causing multiple car accidents. they only did that to stop Captain Underpants when he caused trouble throughout downtown Piqua, making that entirely unintentional.
- He and George treat Mr. Krupp’s loneliness and having no friends with genuine sympathy after they snoop around his house.
- While he and George made fun of Professor Poopypants' name, they try to reason with him and apologize to him for making fun of name and trying to offer him a chance of redemption and that his problem isn't that people laugh at him.
- They also they to reason with Melvin into leaving his partnership with Poopypants to him a chance of redemption.
- He and George stopped Professor Poopypants from stealing the happiness from the kids in the school, transforming them in mindless zombies, before he can to the same to other planets and other galaxies.
- At the end of the movie, he and George confirmed they weren't going to pull mischievous pranks anymore and use them to do good.
- He and George arranged a date between Mr. Krupp and Edith.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Good?[]
- Since he and George are professional pranksters, they are obviously very mischievous, especially when they made fun of Professor Poopypants' name, which was mean-spirited. In the post-credits sequence, they feel no remorse when they double down on their "stuck-on-hold" prank towards Miss Anthrope, which throws her into a fit of rage.
Trivia[]
- He, the film version of George, and Erica Wang are, so far, the only Captain Underpants heroes to be Near Pure Good.
- Only this version of him and George are NPG, as the original books and the Netflix series doesn’t count for mainly being anti-heroes and creating villains by mistake that nearly destroy the world, which is far too irresponsible for them to be NPG.
