Near Pure Good Hero Wiki

Grandmamah is the overarching protagonist of DreamWorks' 44th full-length animated feature film, Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken. She is the ancient Kraken warrior queen of the Kraken Kingdom and Ruby and Sam's maternal grandmother, Agatha and Brill's mother, and Arthur's mother-in-law.

Her Good Ranking[]

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]

  • Just before the events of the movie, she trained female Kraken warriors and protected the sea and their kingdom from various dangerous sea creatures; especially the mermaids.
  • After discovering that Ruby has entered into the ocean and she turned into a giant Kraken, she sent her son Brill to go to Oceanside and find her.
  • When Ruby came to the Kraken kingdom, she welcomed her as she was happy to meet her by giving her a hug, offering her some sea cookies that she made herself, and offering her a tour in their kingdom and introduced to her their people.
  • When Ruby was unsure about following the tradition of the Kraken warriors, she advised her that she has a true potential of becoming the next Kraken queen warrior and that she is special and although Ruby turns it down at first, she understands and lets her return back to her old life in Oceanside.
  • After Ruby came back to the Kraken kingdom and she asked her to trained her, she gladly accepted her offer; training her to use all her superpowers, such as superhuman speed swimming, superhuman strength, laser eyes, and temporal armor.
  • When Agatha returns to the ocean, she calls her out for being a controlled parent by forcing Ruby into a life she doesn't want, which causes Ruby to run away.
  • When Agatha tells her that she just loves to fight for the sake of it, Grandmamah silently stares at her, showing that she acknowledges that point and doesn't argue against it
  • After Agatha revealed to her that Ruby was in danger from an evil mermaid called Chelsea Van Der Zee (who was actually Nerissa in disguise), she was worried about her.
  • When Nerissa succeeded on getting the trident of Oceanus and she came to Oceanside to destroy it and get revenge on Agatha, she along with Agatha went back to Oceanside and stop her by fighting her, just before Ruby came back to stop her too.
  • After discovering that the trident of Oceanus was the one thing that made Nerissa more powerful, she teamed up with Ruby and Agatha by using their laser eyes; destroying the trident and defeating Nerissa once and for all; leaving her unpowerful and returning back into her small mermaid form.
  • After Nerissa’s defeat, she made amends with Agatha and she was proud of Ruby as she succeeded on assisting at the Junior Prom, and when she met her grandson Sam, she quickly become his friend and started a strong grandmother and grandson relationship.
  • When Brill arrived at Oceanside, but he was too late as the battle against Nerissa was over, she along with Agatha gave Brill a pure hearted hug, giving Brill all the love he deserved for 15 years.
  • When Ruby decided to protect Oceanside and the ocean, it is implied that she returned back to the Kraken kingdom and keep helping protect their kingdom and the ocean from any more threats.

What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]

  • She sometimes can act like a control freak, especially when this caused her daughter, Agatha to renounced her title and run away from her home to live on the surface, causing the events of the film.
  • She seems a little lethal, as she offered Ruby and Agatha an opportunity to kill Nerissa after seeing her captured. However, considering what Nerissa's done and how she quickly changed her mind after Ruby talks her down, this comes off as a minor prevention.
  • She can be a bit of a jerk, calling humans "stupid" for falling for Nerissa's deception.
