Frye Onaga is a major character in Splatoon 3, being (formerly) one of the secondary antagonists of the game's single-player campaign, Return of the Mammalians. She is one of the members of Deep Cut alongside her bandmates Shiver and Big Man, with whom she hosts Anarchy Splatcast, as well as the Splatfest events, taking over the role that the Squid Sisters and Off the Hook had previously.
It is revealed in Return of the Mammalians that she, alongside the rest of Deep Cut, secretly work as bandits, scouring the Splatlands for treasure. She is also the first member of the group to be fought, being the boss of the second Site, "Cozy & Safe Factory". Despite this, she and the rest of her team eventually have a change of heart and help out the New Squidbeak Splatoon.

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- It's revealed that the reason she and the rest of Deep Cut were banditing was to find treasure and sell it to provide wealth for the poor in Splatsville.
- She feels remorse for fighting the New Squidbeak Splatoon, wanting to make amends after Marie was nice to the trio.
- She helps in saving the world from Mr. Grizz. She does this by helping New Agent 3 reach the rocket with him on in the first place by creating a pathway using her eels for them, and then later performs Calamari Inkantation 3Mix alongside the rest of her team and the Squid Sisters, which has a mysterious aura that is able to transform Smallfry into the Hugefry so that it can battle and distract Mr. Grizz while New Agent 3 and DJ Octavio focus on vacuuming up the Fuzzy Ooze on Grizz's body to weaken him and then fire the ooze back at him to defeat him.
- While she did confront Big Man for collaborating with other idols behind her back in a rather aggressive way (Like when she tackled him during the Nintendo Live 2024 Tokyo Concert), she does forgive him easily and she's not opposed to collaborating with Off the Hook at the end of said concert. (Though this could be for show business purposes).
What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]
- In Tableturf Battle, she can be a bit arrogant, calling herself the Queen of it, and mocks the player if she wins, saying that she can't wait till she tells Shiver and Big Man about her win and that they would laugh so hard about it.
