Flittle is a supporting character in the Maleficent film duology.
She is part of the trio composed by her, Thistlewit and Knotgrass. They are Moors, a race of magical creatures living in the forest. They want to live in peace with humans, although the fallen fairy, Maleficent, tries to make this impossible because of a treason suffered by her from the king of humans, Stefan, who lied to her and cut off her wings.
She is portrayed by Lesley Manville.
Her Good Ranking[]
What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- She and the others warned Maleficent about a human trespassing the Moors's barrier.
- When Stefan and Maleficent grew up, it is revealed that she, Knotgrass and Thistlewit became peace advisors who wanted to end conflicts between humans and Moors.
- Blesses little Aurora in her Christening.
- Tried to protect Aurora from Maleficent when she approached the baby.
- Agreed to take care of Aurora as a mean to protect her from Maleficent's curse.
- While she and the others did a sloppy job of raising Aurora, it is because they know little about human children, and were doing the best they could, and Aurora herself thinks she was taken good care of.
- Although the cake was badly made, she still did one with her friends in order to celebrate Aurora's last birthday before returning to the kingdom.
- Ruished to the palace to try to prevent Aurora from picking her finger in the spinning wheel.
- She tried to get Philip to kiss Aurora to break her curse.
- Is very happy to support Aurora in her marriage with Philip.
- When Gerda, as a part of Queen Ingrith's genocidal plans, started turning Moors into non-sapient plants using Red Iron powder shot from an organ she was playing, Flittle entered the organ, allowing herself to be transformed into a tree to prevent the instrument from working and anymore Moors from being affected.
- Her sacrifice inspired Thistlewit and Knotgrass to fight Gerda when she tried to rip Flittle's plant body out of the tubes, leading to her defeat and presumed death, as well as the saving of the Moors.
What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]
- She can be clumsy and incompetent while taking care of Aurora, along with her friends, with her nearly dying once because she fell off a cliff when her "aunties" weren't looking, though these scenes are played for laughs and she doesn't show incompetent behavior in the second movie.
- She can have pretty jerkish interactions with Knotgrass and Thistlewit, with them fighting over petty reasons many times. However, they're always together, and are very friendly towards each other, so it's clear she never means it and those are just normal disagreements.
Trivia[]
- She is the only Maleficent hero to be Near Pure Good.
- The action that allows her to stand out for Near Pure Good is foiling the plans of Gerda, who is, ironically, a Near Pure Evil.
