~ Fink to Roz. |
“ | Most of you hate me and I HATE most of you. Everyone in here hates someone else. But here we are, and here's the deal: First one that walks out that door is dead, and if we can't keep it together in here, everyone's dead. We all got one chance to see next spring... because of her. The thing, the mooooonster. Well her name is Roz. And while you all ran from her, and stole from her, and made fun of her, all she's been trying to do is raise her kid. The little one that no one gave a chance. Including me. She's the one who got you out of the storm, built this place. And despite my suggestion that she let you all freeze, she risked everything to bring you here. | „ |
~ Fink convincing the rest of the animals to make peace with each other. |
Fink is the tritagonist of DreamWorks' 48th full-length animated feature film The Wild Robot, an adaptation of the 2016 book series of the same name.
He is a mischievous red fox who is the first animal that Roz helps and befriends, as well as one of Brightbill's mentors.
He is voiced by Pedro Pascal.
His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- When Roz saves him, he befriends her and decides to help her raise her gosling, while consistently mentoring the two throughout the film.
- While raising Brightbill, he and the other animals help Roz build a shelter, which would later save the animals during winter.
- He passes a bit of honey to Brightbill while eating some, and later digs up a few worms for the gosling.
- He gives a speech to the other animals, encouraging them to be grateful for Roz's great deeds.
- During the fight with the RECOs, he hijacks a gun and takes down one of them, saving Roz.
- He genuinely bids Roz farewell, and is later shown telling stories to the other animals.
- In a post credits scene, he is seen improving the island by growing plants with the other animals.
- Though he has eaten animals, this is not a prevention since he needs to eat in order to survive.
- While he started out as a big jerk to everyone around him, he tones down this behavior as he warms up to Roz and the others.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- Even after reforming, he still has a few jerkish moments that detract from his heroism, such as refusing to apologize to Paddler in the climax, leaving a skunk for dead in the snowstorm, and attempting to eat the geese who insulted Brightbill, though the last one could be justified as a heating-up period.
- He nonchalantly boils a crab alive for food, which is too brutal to be PG.
