Eva is a major character in the video game franchise Devil May Cry. She is the mother of Dante and Vergil, the wife of demon rebel Sparda and the grandmother of Nero. She was killed by Mundus when Dante and Vergil when they were 8 years old. Mundus created Trish with her image.

In the the first game she was voiced by Sarah Lafleur, in the fifth game she was voiced by Wendee Lee in the English and Atsuko Tanaka in the Japanese.

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?

• Even though she’s a human and Sparda is a demon, she still loves him for who he is, falling in love with him for being a hero.
• She loves and cares about both her children Dante and Vergil, and was always the one to look after them with love and care after Sparda was deceased.
• Whilst it was believed that she favoured Dante over Vergil, this was not true at all since she loves both of them equally. Dante even explains this to Urizen.
• She often told stories to Dante and Vergil about how Sparda was a good man and a legendary hero, likely even inspiring them, making her indirectly responsible of the heroes they’re now.
• When Mundus attacked and destroyed their home, she sacrificed her life to save Dante and tried to save Vergil, but unfortunately getting killed in the process.
• She is one of the only Devil May Cry characters that has never been shown to have any negative/corrupting traits at all, arguably the most moral character in the entire series.

What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?

• Even though she saved Dante (and attempted to save Vergil), she suffers from a severe lack of characterisation, due to her direct screen time amounting to one short cutscene in DMC5. Because of this, she also fails the admirable standards of characters like Nero, Dante and even Vergil.
