She plays a key role in helping Fujimaru taking down Tiamat, the Beast II Servant and Mother of all things, who was trying eliminate all of humanity.

She is voiced by Kana Ueda in Japanese and Mela Lee (who also voiced Tikki from Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir series and Jade from Mortal Kombat 11) in English anime adaptation.

Her Good Ranking[]

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]

  • Unlike her sister Ishtar, she takes her role as a goddess seriously in looking after the souls in her Underworld.
  • Even before her redemption, she expressed her kindness to Fujimaru.
  • Under the possession of her sister Ishtar, she helps Fujimaru and his group by destroying the horde of undeads blocking the group’s path after they unrestraint her.
  • She warns Fujimaru that Gorgon cannot be reasoned with and will never make peace with them.
  • She gave Fujimaru an advice in order to defeat Quetzalcoatl, they need to do it with the force of evil since the latter is the apex of all good.
  • While she did admit that she killed people and trapped their souls in Kur (which is the Underworld in Babylonia), including Gilgamesh's, she expressed remorse for her actions after she was defeated by Fujimaru and Mash.
    • Afterwards, she released their souls and revived them.
  • She redeems herself by joining Fujimaru and his group in defeating Tiamat.
  • She reported Fujimaru and Gilgamesh about the status in Kur and was shocked when the amount of dead souls entering Kur after Tiamat's army of Lahmu slaughtered most of Mesopotamia's population.
  • When Fujimaru gave Ereshkigal the idea to lure Tiamat and open the gates to the Underworld underneath Uruk and weakening her, while she was initially reluctant to do it due to how crazy the idea was, she accepted the task regardless, but it will take about three days to move the Underworld to Uruk.
  • While she did set something up against Uruk due to hating it, she confessed this to Gilgamesh and admits her wrong.
  • After Ishtar blasted the hole into Tiamat, Ereshkigal saved Fujimaru and Mash from falling and granted them permission to walk in her Underworld.
  • She tried to finish Tiamat off with her gallû spirits.
  • She helped Fujimaru and Mash in trying to stop Tiamat from climbing up to the surface. Although Gilgamesh would be the one that ultimately stopped her.
  • When Tiamat unleashed her Nega-Genesis, which is a bounded field that nullifies all of servant's Noble Phantasms, Ereshkigal used her Noble Phantasm: Kur Kigal Irkalla to momentarily stop the expansion of the bounded field.
  • She gave everyone the power boost in order to slay Tiamat, even if it means sacrificing herself and giving up her Authority in the Underworld.
  • During her final moment, she asked Ishtar to give her thanks to Ritsuka and Mash for their kindness.
  • In the Final Singularity: Solomon, she showed up to fight the Demon God Pillars, along with many other servants.

What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]

  • Her rivalry with Ishtar does made her come off as arrogant, like when she asked Fujimaru a trivial question of who is more beautiful: her or Ishtar? She punished Fujimaru by electrocuting Ishtar for picking her as the answer. However, her arrogance are not as prevalent comparing to her sister's, making this a minor prevention.

Trivia[]

  • Her English voice actress, Mela Lee, also voiced Kikimora from The Owl House series, who is considered to be Near Pure Evil, the opposite morality-wise of Ereshkigal.
  • She is so far the only Near Pure good Hero from the Fate series.
  • She is one of several Near Pure Good heroes who also has Villainous Benchmark page, others include Scorpion from Mortal Kombat Legends, Bucky Barnes from MCU, Starlight Glimmer, Megamind, and Piccolo.
