Ember Lumen is the main protagonist of Pixar’s 27th full-length animated feature film Elemental.

She is a fiery young woman who was a employee of her father’s fire store called the Fireplace and Wade Ripple’s girlfriend.

She was voiced by Leah Lewis. As a child, she was voiced by Clara Lin Ding. As a teenager, she was voiced by Reagan To.

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]

She was first introduced as a fiery young girl, supporting her family and helping them in everything they needed.
During her work at Fireplace, she helped her father with his business, such as attending the customers, giving deliveries, and giving 2 water guys a lesson to not to mess with the store.
During the Red Dot Sale, she tried to help the customers, but they only made her being more madder than ever.
When she accidentally broke the pipes at the Fireplace and brought a water guy called Wade Ripple as an inspector and he attempted to give the notes to the City Hall, she tried to stop him, thought she managed to reason with him, but the notes were delivered.
When their store was going to be shot down for a week, she was worried about her family and the store, especially, when her mother explained to her about abandoning their former home Fireland and moved to Element City.
She went with Wade to the Cyclone Stadium to talk to Gale about having the notes revoked, and when Gale was acting rude to her and she was talking mean things about her family and the Fireplace, she defended her family and the store from her, but later was convinced, after Wade and the crowd cheered Lutz and the Windbreakers up in the game.
When Gale decided to give her and Wade a chance to find what caused the leak and stopped it, she will revoke the notes, she along with Wade went in a air balloon to find the leak.
She revealed to Wade that she had a tragic backstory, when she was a child, her father took her to see a Vivisteria Flower in the Garden Central Station, but they didn’t let them come because their fire was dangerous and he got into a fight with the security guard and some element citizens, she was very frightened and scared.
After being the leak which was caused, she along with Wade stopped it by using sand bags to blocked the water’s path and succeeded for a short time.
After successfully stopping the leak for a short time, she began to date Wade and passed time with him.
When Bernie met Wade and he was over pressing him by making him eat fire food when he accidentally lied about being a food inspector, she was worried about Wade and tried to tell her father to not go far with him.
After knowing that sand bags didn’t work to stop the leak, she was worried about her family and she even tell herself that she was a failure, but Wade cheered her up by telling that she is doing everything for them, which made her being more prouder.
When she discovered that her fire can turn sand into melted glass, she turn all the sand bags into a glass patch, and succeeded into stopping the leak once again.
After successfully on stopping the leak, she was still worried about her father as when he explained to her that he was lucky to have her.
She went to Wade’s apartment to meet his family during their dinner and wait for Gale’s phone call, and they succeeded on revoke all the notes and saved the Fireplace.
During the crying game and Wade explained to her that he wanted to be with her, she began to realize that she was in love with him and she even cried for the first time as when she first thought she will never be with him.
When Brook offered her an internship about having a new job as a melted glass builder, she began to realize her own choices and decisions, despite knowing that she won’t be following her father’s dream.
After her father showed to her a new Fireplace sign with her name and he explained to her that when he and Cinder left the Fireland, he gave his father an honorable bow, but he didn’t return to him the bow, she was sad for him as she decided to give Wade all the presents he gave to her, including her Vivisteria flower crystal.
When Wade invited her to see a real Vivisteria flower, she became very inspiring as she finally complete her dream of seeing a real Vivisteria flower and she can be with Wade without getting hurt themselves.
After leaving the Firetown for a while, she started to feel remorse for disappointing her family and hurting Wade’s feelings.
When the leak become a huge water problem and it was coming to Firetown, she went there to put everyone into safety and save the store and the Blue Flame.
When the Blue Flame was in dangerous by the flood and Wade came to help save Ember, they saved the Blue Flame from being turn off by the flood.
She tried to save Wade and herself from being trapped at the store, but it was too late, she apologized to Wade for hurting his feelings and she revealed to him that she loves him too, just before later Wade died and sacrificed his life to save her.
After Wade’s death, she apologized to her father from causing the flood and the store being in danger, and she finally tells him the truth, and he reassures to her that the store was never his dream, but having her as his daughter was always his dream.
After discovering that Wade was just vaporized, she along with her family told to him beautiful charming things that made Wade cried, reviving him in the process, and when he was completely revived, she was relieved to see him alive as she hugged him and give him their official first love kiss.
Months later, she began a new phase of her life as her father was now retired, Gale began a new love relationship with Fern, Flarry and Flarietta were known in charge at the Fireplace, Clod found a new love crush, and she was now Wade’s girlfriend.
She along with Wade waved their family goodbye and leave Element City to begin Ember’s new job as a melted glass maker.
Just before leaving Element City, she made her father the same honorable bow to him as he did before, and he even gave to her the honor back.

What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]

When she gets angry, she can act like a complete jerk, and let her short temper got out of control, especially when she was fighting with the Sparkle Customer for the free sparkle, and when the customers over pressed her during the Red Dot Sale, which caused the events of the movie.
She was shown to be lethal in one scene when she tries to chase Wade with the notepad to prevent him from shutting down her shop.
