Near Pure Good Hero Wiki

That's right sweetheart. Welcome to the Ice Age.
~ Ellie

Elinor, or more commonly known as Ellie, is a major character in the Ice Age franchise. She is Manny's mate, Peaches's mother, and Crash and Eddie's adoptive sister.

In the theatrical films, she is voiced by Queen Latifah and Dominique Jennings in the spin-off film The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild.

Her Good Ranking[]

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]

In General[]
  • She is supportive, kind-hearted, and friendly.
  • She lightens the history.
  • Is mentioned that she is raising Crash and Eddie after their mother deceased.
  • She is a more understanding parent to Peaches than Manny, who is overprotective of her.
Ice Age: The Meltdown[]
  • While she was somewhat mischievous at the beginning, it’s because she had grown up with possums. Not to mention she subverted it at the end of the movie.
  • She saved Diego alongside Manny from falling into a pit.
  • While she was somewhat argumentative to Manny when they were discussing how to choose to reach the boat, it was because she wanted to reach the boat safely. Sid later lampshades that to drown is a better death than to be torn apart.
  • When she is buried in a cave, she helps Crash and Eddie get out and possibly wants them to save themselves.
  • She allows Sid to have a pet dog.
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs[]
  • When Sid finds three eggs in the cave and later drops them, she helps him to catch them.
  • When Sid is abducted by Mama Dino, she willingly goes to the dinosaur world to save him, despite being pregnant and being proposed by Manny to stay.
  • When the herd is trapped by a dinosaur, she lures another dinosaur to help the others to go down.
  • When Manny and Diego are trapped by a carnivorous plant, she goes to save them but is stopped by Buck.
  • When the herd is stuck in a cave with a poisonous gas, she is the only one to reach out and save the others.
  • When Diego tries to save her from dinosaurs, she slightly helps him to fight them, despite being frightened and giving birth.
Ice Age: Continental Drift[]
  • She comforts Peaches when Manny embarrassed her in front of the mammoths.
  • She leads the herd to the ground bridge.
  • She helps Peaches to save Louis.
  • When she is captured by Captain Gutt, she tells him to let Peaches go.
  • She defeats Squint the rabbit.
Ice Age: Collision Course[]
  • She prepares a surprise for Manny on their wedding anniversary and doesn’t hold any grudge against him when he forgets about their wedding anniversary himself.
  • She doesn't approve Manny's behavior against Julian and says to him to stop to antagonize this latter although Manny doesn't listen her.
  • She attempts to convince Peaches to stay with them after her wedding, and when Peaches refuses, she accepts her choice.
  • She partakes in saving the Earth from an asteroid alongside others.
The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild[]
  • She wrote down the whole story of the herd even about Manny, Sid, and Diego's despite not being in the first film.
  • She worried about Crash and Eddie leaving when they were very helpless.
  • She calls Manny out for telling Crash and Eddie to run away from the herd.
  • She goes to find Crash and Eddie along with the herd.
  • She along with the herd plays part in defeating Orson.
  • Being proud of their newfound bravery, she accepts Crash and Eddie's choice to stay in the Lost World and no longer has to be overprotective towards them.

What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]

  • She ultimately fails the admirable standards of Manny, who risked his life to save Diego from a volcano, brought a human baby to his father despite humans killing his first family, and defeated dangerous villains in the first two and fourth installments, Diego, who sacrificed himself to save Manny from his pack in the first installment, got rid of his aquaphobia in the second installment and redeemed a villain in the fourth installment, and slightly to Sid, who, while being completely dimwitted and creating more problems than Ellie, saved more characters than her. On the other hand, Ellie did not appear in the first incarnation, where Manny, Sid and Diego did the most heroic things, and it can be argued that she would have gone with them to save the man-cub if she had appeared, so its a minor prevention.
  • The fact she helps Crash and Eddie to get out of a buried cave to save themselves in the second installment relies on Fridge Brilliance, as it isn’t stated directly. It should be mentioned, though, that the fact that she helped them to get out of the cave is still a heroic deed, so it is a minor prevention.
  • She has cases of manipulating others, such as trying to keep her daughter so she wouldn't leave her in the hands of her intimidation.

Trivia[]

  • She originally was an approved Pure Good due to her kind nature, but the admirable standards changed overtime and she was rejected and eventually moved to the Heroic Benchmark Wiki due to being a damsel in distress, but when it was found out that she wasn't and her deeds do stand out, but she still fails the admirable standards to Manny, Diego and Sid, she was approved as Near Pure Good.
  • Ellie's Near Pure Good status could potentially change because of the upcoming film, Ice Age: Boiling Point.
