Daruk is a major supporting character in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. He hailed from Goron City and is the Goron Champion who pilots Divine Beast Vah Rudania and wielder of the Boulder Breaker, which he can carry with one hand while anyone else who wields it has to use two hands, which shows Daruk's sheer strength. He is one of Link's allies and is known for having a big appetite for Prime Rock Roasts. Depending on the games, Daruk and the other Champions either meet their ends in Breath of the Wild, or they managed to live to see another day as a result of Terrako's actions.

His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- When he saw Link being attacked by monsters, he rushed to the latter's side to help.
- He quickly befriends Link when he witnessed him fighting various monsters, is highly impressed of his strength and saw his huge appetite, which are traits he shares with him. He even generously offered him a Prime Rock Roast at one point since he believed he liked it, although he doesn't realize that anyone who isn't a Goron doesn't eat rocks.
- He willingly accepts Princess Zelda's proposition to become the Goron Champion who pilots Divine Beast Vah Rudania and assist Link in holding Calamity Ganon back and even states that he is willing to give up his life to ensure the safety of the people of Hyrule.
- He fought off a group of Bokoblins, and ends up saving one of his worst nightmares, a dog. He does admit to Zelda that he is still terrified of them due to not having a positive experience with dogs and asks for assurance that Ganon isn't a dog creature or something similar. Regardless, he tells the Hylian Retriever to stay safe as it leaves in gratitude.
- He feels some sympathy for Zelda when she is very despondent over not having any access to her sealing power, which she needs to awaken so she can imprison Calamity Ganon.
- When Calamity Ganon returns, he quickly takes control of the situation and rallies the Champions to head to their Divine Beasts and Link to head to Hyrule Castle.
- A century later, when his spirit is released from imprisonment since his death, he thanks Link for setting him free and he grants him Daruk's Protection, a forcefield that can be used to defend against attacks from all sides since it won't be of any use to him as a spirit before sending him on his way so he can set sights on Hyrule Castle. Even after losing his life, he never lost his loyalty to Link and the rest of Hyrule and was worried about his tribe and wonders if they're still standing strong after the Great Calamity and was soon overjoyed by the presence of his descendent Yunobo looking up at him that the Gorons have lived on.
- Alongside the other three Champions, he opens fire as Calamity Ganon escapes his confinement, allowing Link to defeat him and free Princess Zelda so she can properly seal it away.
- In Age of Calamity, he accepts Mipha's request to help with her training so she can hold her own against stronger foes, which is highly likely that they will.
- At the cliff outside of Korok Forest, he stands up for Link when Revali starts to give him the cold shoulder and questioning his leadership.
- He helps protect Hestu while he escorts them to the forest clearing where the Master Sword lies and defeats the Hollows created by Astor that are responsible for the Malice that is blocking the way.
- He fights against Fireblight Ganon for control over Rudania, which came very close to cutting his life short before Terrako's time portal brings Yunobo back in time to shield Daruk from the fiery projectile that would have killed him. When Yunobo later becomes scared, he tells him to stay composed, which brings Yunobo's spirits back up as help arrives.
- He expresses eternal gratitude to Link for assisting him in keeping Rudania under his control and Yunobo for coming for him in his most dire need and bringing them more time for back up to arrive.
- When he learns that Hyrule Castle had fallen under Ganon's control, he takes Yunobo and assists in defending Eastern Hyrule from the Guardians and monsters by destroying bridges and destroying the enemy stronghold while defending the allied stronghold.
- He manages to assist Urbosa and Riju alongside the other two Champions when they were dealing with reinforcements at the worst possible time.
- Along with the other Champions, he open fire when the defenses brought up by Calamity Ganon were brought down to weaken Ganon.
- He briefly mourned the damaged state of Terrako when it was corrupted during Ganon's reincarnation through absorption of Astor and Harbinger Ganon before they head upstairs to confront the Hatred and Malice Incarnate itself.
- He cheers Link on when he goes to deliver the final blow on Ganon.
- After Calamity Ganon is defeated, Yunobo and the other three successors are being sent back to their time, and Daruk promises Yunobo that he will forever cherish the short time they had together.
- He assisted in Terrako's reconstruction so they can reunite it with Princess Zelda, since it proved to be a true friend to her and her companions.
- In the Guardian of Remembrance DLC, he managed to help defend Kakariko Village from various monsters and the Yiga Clan that were trying to capture it. When they succeed, he witnessed Yunobo refusing to take credit due to him not being proud of the kind of Goron he used to be until he met a friend (the Link from Breath of the Wild) who helped him find his courage. In response to this, Daruk raises Yunobo's hand and assures him that he is very proud to have a descendent like him, calling him the Champion of the Future, and to give that friend of his all his best.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He does show some signs of mild arrogance, as he declared that no one stands a chance against him.
- He is occasionally shown to be quite mischievous at times.
Trivia[]
- He and Urbosa are the two Champion Pilots to be classified as such.
