They got my name wrong.
~ Dani's first words, to Lita and Alejo.
When tyranny is law, revolution is order. Yara is yours. Don't f*ck it up.
~ Dani to the rebels following Anton and Diego's deaths.

Dani Rojas is the main protagonist of the 2021 video game Far Cry 6.

Dani was born in Yara, a country under the dictatorship of Antón Castillo. A military dropout, Dani did not want to join the Revolution, instead wishing to escape the country, but eventually gets swept up in the Guerilla communist movement and now has the goal to take on Antón within the Lion's Den, a nickname for the capital of Yara.

Rojas was voiced by Sean Rey (male) and Nisa Gunduz (female).

His/Her Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him/Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]

In General[]

  • Although his/her gender depends on the player's choice, Dani still, unlike the protagonist of the fifth part, has clear characteristics and personality, and shows himself as a noble man whose goal is to free the whole Yara from the cruel rule of Anton Castillo.
  • Although he/she kills many enemy soldiers throughout the story, it is still justified by self-defense, as well as the excessive brutality and hostility of these very soldiers. And although the nature of the killings may seem cruel (a few machete blows), it is still done instantly and not painfully. He/she also often felt disgusted by the excessive cruelty of his/her allies, especially Juan Cortez, and said that he/she would never be like them.
  • Although he/she said that he/she used to steal cars as a child, he/she only did it to survive because he/she grew up in poverty. Additionally, he/she stopped doing it later on.
  • In the secret ending, Dani sails away from Yara, and then rests on the beach in Miami, and hears the news on the radio, from which you can learn that Anton Castillo defeated the guerrillas and killed Clara. However, this ending is not canonical, and does not detract from all his/her the heroism and nobility.

Far Cry 6[]

  • He/She served in the Yara army, but later left the service, finally becoming disillusioned with the country and its ruler.
  • He/She loved his/her friends Lita and Alejo very much, and always went out and met with them.
  • After Alejo was shot by Castillo's soldiers, Dani was saddened by his death and realized that everything was serious now and he/she could be pinned down, after which he/she asked Lita to go with him/her to the ship that would take them out of Yara so that they could both escape.
  • Upon reaching the ship, Dani informed the carrier that Alejo would not sail, Lita would be instead. He/she also persuaded a poor boy who had nothing to pay to let go, because she did not want anyone to stay in this tyrannical country.
  • Although he/she didn't listen to Lita about not having to leave his home, but having to fight for it, it was because Dani didn't want to lose his loved ones anymore.
  • He/she was genuinely saddened by Lita's death, and even tried to save her at the last minute, and after her death wished to find Castillo and kill him in order to avenge Lita's death and save the whole Yara from him.
  • He/she helped Clara Garcia and gunsmith Juan Cortez defeat Castillo's accomplices in three regions of the country, thereby preventing their tyrannical activities.
  • He/she recruited allies among other groups that were fighting the Castillo regime, and even rescued several of them from captivity. Dani was also genuinely saddened by the deaths of several of them during the fighting, and he/she said that their sacrifices would not be in vain.
  • During the course of the story, Dani meets Anton Castillo's son Diego twice more: during the failed assassination attempt on Anton during his address to the people, and when Dani is abducted and tortured by General Raul Sanchez, Castillo's right-hand man. Dani and Diego take a liking to each other, and Diego even saves Dani's life by killing Sanchez and convincing his father to let Dani go.
  • After uniting all the rebel forces under the auspices of Libertad, Dani learns that Castillo has captured Clara under the pretext of peace negotiations and is holding her hostage in his villa, after which Dani goes there to rescue Clara.
  • He/she saved Diego from being shot by a sniper rifle, and although Clara later died because of that, Dani was saddened by her death.
  • He/she was very angry at Juan Cortez for almost killing Diego, and Dani even told him that he/she would never be as cruel as he was.
  • He/she and his squad stormed the capital, and finally reached Anton to finally defeat him and put an end to his tyrannical rule.
  • After Castillo killed Diego and then committed suicide, Dani was again very saddened by Diego's death, and even remembered the very situation with Lita.
  • After defeating Castillo, the rebels unanimously proclaim Dani as the new leader of Yara, but he/she relinquishes power, saying that Clara would be a much more capable ruler.
  • After burying Clara, he/she and Juan continue their war against the remaining Castillo loyalists.

What Prevents Him/Her From Being Pure Good?[]

  • He/She is still a bit lethal. Although all of his/her kills are righteous, since all of his/her victims are cruel soldiers, he/she still enjoyed fighting, and even once admitted to Juan that he/she had fun fighting. However, considering that this is done in self-defense, and that Dana didn't have much of a choice, it's a minor prevention.
