Near Pure Good Hero Wiki

Doctor Daniel "Dan" Lewis is a supporting character in the Venom trilogy of Sony's Spider-Man Universe, especifically being a supporting character in Venom and a major protagonist in its sequel, Venom: Let There be Carnage.

He is a medical professional and Anne Weying's new boyfriend after she left reckless journalist Eddie Brock when his actions caused the loss of both of their jobs. Dan is friendly towards Eddie all the way, and eventually, though mostly unintentionally, comes across his crusades as a "superhero"/vigilante using the symbiotic alien bonded to him.

He is portrayed by Reid Scott.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]

  • He has a generally affable personality, never once being hostile towards Eddie despite his increasingly weird actions due to still getting used to Venom in his body, nor harboring any bad feelings towards him for being his girlfriend's ex. In general, he is nice to most people most of the time.
  • He prevented Eddie from being arrested by coming up with the alibi of him being his patient.
  • He and Anne track down Mrs. Chen to find Venom after he is separated from Eddie.
  • He weakens Carnage enough for a more potent attack by Venom by using his weakness, fire, against him.
  • Saves Anne after she falls from the church.
  • Doesn't fail the admirable standards too hard by aiding in the defeat of a villain as dangerous as Carnage despite being just a normal human with no symbiote or exceptional skills.

What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]

  • While admirable in his own right, he fails the standards to his fiancé Anne Weyling, who, with or without a symbiote, aided in the defeat of Riot and saving of the world in the first movie.
  • Has some jerkish unproportional retribution moments, like calling Anne a pathological liar for not telling him how Venom was involved in the situation, despite it being very unfair given she had reasons to do so and didn't really lie to him, let alone pathologically, or complaining about being late to a party as he and Anne go to bail out Eddie.
