Cole Young is the main character of the 2021 film Mortal Kombat. He is a former MMA champion, as well as a descendant of the great master Hanzo Hasashi. Later, he becomes one of the warriors of the Earthly World.

He is portrayed by Lewis Tan.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]

Although he fought his opponents very hard in MMA fights, it was just a matter of sport, and outside of the fight he was very friendly to his rivals.
He and his family (his wife and daughter) were hiding from Sub-Zero when he came to kill them.
At Jax's request, he went to Sonya Blade to team up with her in the fight against evil.
He helped Sonya and Kano fight off the Reptile.
After coming to Raiden's temple, he became one of the warriors of the Earthly World to protect it from the Outside World.
He saved his family from Goro, who intended to kill them.
He distributed who Jax, Liu Kang, and Sonya would fight, and in the end they defeated all the warriors of the Outside World.
He bravely fought against Sub-Zero to save his family from him.
Together with Scorpio, he defeated Sub-Zero, thereby saving his family from him and preventing his cruelest actions.
He fulfilled the will of the Scorpion, namely, he took care of the creation of his family.
After defeating Sub-Zero, he decided to continue his position as the savior of the Earthly World, and went to Los Angeles in search of Hollywood martial artist and movie star Johnny Cage to make him the new warrior of the Earthly World.

What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]

Sometimes he can be lethal, like when he killed Goro in a very brutal way. Although Goro probably deserved it because he tried to kill Cole and his family, but the way he killed him was still pretty brutal.

Trivia[]

Along with Kung Lao, he is one of two Near Pure Good Heroes of Mortal Kombat who appear in the films.
While he is NPG now, there is a chance that his status will change in the upcoming sequel.
