Hop Pop: What? Awesome? It was missing all the context! Like what about the time I courageously ran for mayor? Or that time I stood up to those nasty tax collectors?
Anne and Polly: Eh. Boring.
Sprig: Audiences want clear stakes, Hop Pop. And action.
Anne and Polly: Act-ion!
~ Anne, Sprig and Polly stated that Hop Pop must stand out unless there's an action.

Near Pure Goods who fail the in-story admirable standards of their respective work. Keep in mind that they differ from Heroic Benchmarks in that they still pass the general admirable standards or at least stand out enough with their Goodness Zone crossings. Especially if the hero lacks corrupting qualities, moments of incompetence and/or moral agency issues all while having this as their only prevention from Pure Good, Near Pure Goods fall under this category. Many of them (e.g. Tamaki Amajiki, Nala, Rani, Perfuma, Cynthia, Marina Ida, Fumikage Tokoyami, Teba, Tulin, Mineru, Willow Park, Frozone, GAIA, Jinbe, Nejire Hado, Heimdall and Rafael) fail it to Pure Good heroes, Inconsistently Admirable and even other Near Pure Good heroes themselves, as long as said heroes pass the standards.

This also includes Near Pure Goods whose heroic actions are only admirable enough due to Fridge Brilliance (e.g. Ood Sigma, Mei Lee, Rudolph Conners, Doc Louis, Michael Afton, Radar, and Cream the Rabbit), Near Pure Goods who suffer from off-screen heroism (e.g. Ms. Sara Bellum) and Near Pure Goods who fail to stand out due to the themes in their stories and nothing else, like in scenarios where everyone is good for a certain reason.

There are also heroes who are devoid of any corrupting qualities either by reforming themselves or they are just incorruptible (e.g. Alador Blight, Marcy Wu, Maddie Wachowski, DogDay, and Neville Longbottom), but only are not Pure Good because they do not pass the Admirable Standards. Conversely, it's possible for Insufficiently Admirable heroes to have corrupting qualities so long as they don't get in the way of their heroism.

These heroes can only qualify as Near Pure Good if their admirable actions are on the high end of Standard Good, and in the case of fridge brilliance heroes, their actions that suffer from fridge brilliance need to at least have partial effect or be central to the plot.
