Buttercup Utonium is one of the five titular main protagonists (alongside Blossom, Sonic the Hedgehog, Brunette, and Bubbles) of the series. She is the toughest fighter of the Powerpuff Girls, she is also the best friend of both Tails and Knuckles.

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- Is the protector of Townsville and Green Hill Zone as she is willing to protect both cities from dangerous threats such as Eggman and Mojo Jojo.
- She alongside Bubbles, Tails, and Knuckles is responsible for saving all of existence that both Blossom and Sonic saved.
- Subverted her previous corrupting qualities such as her mischief and lethal nature, with instead she is only slightly jerkish as she became less jerkish and even showed remorse for her previous actions, showing that she no longer torments Brunette and cares about her sisters especially Brunette more.
- Despite her jerkish nature, she truly cares about her sisters and her friends and is always willing to help both the former and latter when needed.
- Tries to help Bubbles get her doll, Octi back but then realized that the former no longer needed her doll back and realized that she has her sisters and friends which makes Buttercup proud of her.
- Despite the series' high AS and the fact that Blossom, Sonic, and Brunette are slightly more admirable than her, she however still passes the AS since she is responsible for saving all of existence that both Blossom and Sonic saved and she still plays an important role in stopping multiple villains, not to mention saving all of existence is just as admirable as saving the entire multiverse which makes it more than enough to pass the series' high AS.
What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]
- Is a jerk to her enemies and sisters given that she is willingly to taunt at her enemies especially Mojo and Eggman and even gets Sonic to the point where he hits both Eggman and Mojo while the two are injured and even called Bubbles an "idiot". However, this is a minor prevention given that she shows to be very honorable to her sisters and does care about them and her insults mostly happens very few times and even if it doesn't, most of her insults are justified while some aren't since she mostly insults villains who tries targeting her or does something heinous.
Trivia[]
- She, Sonic the Hedgehog, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Sarah, and Blacksun are the only five characters from the series to be Near Pure Goods.
- Coincidentally she, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Courage the Cowardly Dog are the only three Near Pure Goods from the series to be characters from their own canon series and not OCs created by someone else.
- She was approved as Inconsistently Admirable at first, however she was later approved as NPG due to showing remorse for her mischief and lethal nature and even no longer became too much of a jerk as she becomes less jerkish later on in the series.
- She and her original canon counterpart are the only two versions of herself to be Near Pure Good.
- She is also the only fanon version of herself to be Near Pure Good.
