Near Pure Good Hero Wiki

Karen Beecher (also known as Bumblebee) is one of the main characters in the second generation of the DC Super Hero Girls franchise. She is a member of the Super Hero Girls and a student at Metropolis High School.

She was voiced by Kimberly Brooks. In the Korean version, Kim Yul did her, who also did Applejack in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

Her Good Ranking[]

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]

In General[]

  • Despite being shy and insecure, she has shown that she can put aside her fears and achieve great feats.
  • She is, along with Jessica Cruz, one of the most peaceful members of the Super Hero Girls, since she wants to avoid getting into conflicts. However, when the situation calls for it, she fights to do the right thing like a true superhero.
  • She made herself a super bee suit and uses it to do good and dedicates it to being a superhero along with her friends and teammates.
  • Although she originally made her super suit to grow so that she could be seen by everyone and it failed, causing her to shrink, she used that flaw in her suit as a strength and it has helped her defeat various villains, the most notable being Lena Luthor and Giganta.

Season 1[]

  • When she, Babs, Jessica, Kara and Zee were sent to detention, she apologized in case she had offended anyone, even though it was not her fault since Babs caused a food fight in the cafeteria.
  • When Barbara suggested that the girls form a team, she agreed to be part of it.
  • Since Diana had a hard time getting used to the world of man the first time she came, Karen was the one who had the idea of going to the fair, and thanks to that Diana learned to have fun and relax with her friends.
  • She helped fight against Luthor's bots that were forcibly expelling everybody from Sweet Justice.
  • After Batgirl encouraged the girls to join together once again, Karen helped get Diana to move back in with them.
  • Defeated Lena Luthor and her plans to get rid of teenagers through brainwashing.
  • She faced and defeated Giganta in their first match despite being able to shrink like an insect. This victory also encouraged her to have more confidence to standing Doris Zeul, the school bully.
  • She fought the Super Villain Girls, a group of teenage villains, multiple times.
  • She helped take care of Kara after Catwoman severely injures her with a kryptonite.
  • She along with Hawkman got the kryptonite to stop General Zod and his henchmen, and helped send them to the Phantom Zone.
  • When she found out about Harley Quinn's plan to blow up the bridge, Bumblebee tried to warn the girls until she was finally able to talk about it with Zee.
  • She courageously foiled Harley's plan and saved the bridge.
  • She helped Zatanna stop the Gremlins by putting on a show to entertain them.
  • She guided Diana using the GPS while the latter followed traffic laws to stop Catwoman, Harley Quinn and Livewire.
  • Her friendship with Kara was crucial in helping her retrieve her senses when Ra's al Ghul mind-controlled her with red kryptonite.
  • Not being comfortable with the heavy metal environment and hearing the lyrics that Ra's al Ghul sang about his eco-torrist vision, Karen told Kara to leave the concert venue; even despite how ignorant Kara was being by not paying attention to Ra's al Ghul's song.
  • She saved Up Past 8, and helped free Supergirl from red Kryptonite's mind control and defeat Ra's al Ghul who was manipulating her.
  • She supported Carter to express his feelings for Shiera Sanders (the girl he is in love with and has a bond of always reincarnating).
  • She fought Hath-Set even though Carter had not yet felt the love that overcomes death. And when he swore that he would return next time to continue the curse, Karen assured Carter that she and the girls would take charge of him if he returned.

Season 2[]

  • She confronted Night Sting (a dystopian, future version of her) assuring her that she will never be like her, thus saving her own future, resulting in Night Sting being erased from existence.
  • When Shane O'Shaughnessy fired Barbara from the job she loves so much, Karen told him she would quit if her friend left, but when Barbara asked her to stay to raise funds to repair her suit, she then decided to stay at her request.
  • She defeated Condiment King using the products of Barbara's lax attitude toward her job: a huge loaded burrito, an overflowing napkin dispenser, and a slippery floor. And he voluntarily resigned so that Barbara could get her job back.
  • When Diana acted berserker-like in #TheMinus, ranting when she got an A- because of her obsession with being perfect, Karen told her what she needed to hear about not being perfect, to which Diana started to cry, and tearfully accepts it.
  • When Supergirl temporarily lost her powers due to Toyman exposing her with a golden Kryptonite stone and becomes discouraged by her new human weaknesses, Bumblebee inspires her by reminding her of incidents where she was able to help Garth without using her powers. And she along with Kara and Garth defeated Toyman.
  • She helped protect Gotham City from the Joker and the villains he led. And using an antidote she turned Dr. Francine Langstrom back to normal when Francine was transformed into She-Bat.

DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power[]

  • She, along with her fellow Super Hero Girls, defeated Lena Luthor and Toyman, who wanted to destroy the Hub City district in Metropolis and discredit Lex Luthor.

Teen Titans Go! & DC Super Hero Girls: Mayhem in the Multiverse[]

  • When the team disbanded the second time, Karen upon hearing Luthor's announcement sends an emergency call to her friends to meet at the junkyard.
  • She gives the Girls a motivate speech, encouraging them to team up again to save the world and defeat the Legion of Doom.
  • She helped save all of the other heroes from the Phantom Zone and defeat the Legion of Doom in the process.
  • She tried to fight the brainwashed Supergirl, albeit to no success.
  • She, with the Girls, encouraged Supergirl to continue fighting Cythonna, who tried to control her.
  • It is also thanks to her motivational speech that Harleen chose to help the Super Hero Girls defeat Cythonna and the Legion of Doom.
  • Unlike the other girls, who were initially mad at Diana for her “betrayal,” Karen never got mad at Diana and encouraged the other girls to not be mad at her right before they reunited with Diana.

What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]

  • Despite being a nice girl, like her fellow Super Hero Girls she can take part in their more jerkish acts just as often as their more heroic acts. A good example of this is when almost all the members, except Wonder Woman, humiliated Lois Lane with no good reason for it.
  • She, Supergirl, Green Lantern and Zatanna attempted to assault (and possibly kill) Steve Trevor just because Diana was constantly distracted by him.
