Buckminster, or just Buck, is a major character in the Ice Age franchise.
He is an extremely resourceful but mentally ill weasel that lives in an underground world populated almost solely by dinosaurs. He gets to meet the protagonists when they go there save one of their friends, Sid, who has been "kidnapped"/adopted by a gigantic T-Rex, when he adopted her eggs, thinking they had been abandoned.
He becomes the gang's friend and helps them on other occasions, most notably when he reunited forces with them to try to stop a giant meteor from crashing into Earth and making all mammals go extinct, or when he helped Crash and Eddie survive in the Lost World after they got there trying to prove they could be by themselves.
He was voiced by Simon Pegg who also portrayed Nicholas Angel in Hot Fuzz.

- He had a group of friends who often protected the Lost World and helped keep harmony.
- Offered Orson a chance to live in peace with the rest of the animals.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs[]
- He agreed to help the mammals find Sid and protect them in the way.
- He entered the carnivorous plant, despite it being very dangerous, to save Diego and Manny.
- He helped save the animals from the Chasm of Death.
- Saved Sid from certain death when he almost fell into lava.
- When his archenemy, Rudy, appeared, he fought and defeated him with the help of the rest of the animals, allowing them to go home.
- He was sad when he thought Rudy was dead, though this could be out of him not getting to feel the thrill of battling him anymore.
Ice Age: Collision Course[]
- He saves an Egg from being eaten by three pterodactyls and gave it back to its mother.
- When he found out about the meteor prophecy, he went to the surface warn and get help from his fellow mammal friends.
- He conducted a journey to stop the meteor, helping the mammals walk through a dangerous electric storm field.
- He tried to convince the inhabitants of the dead meteor to use the crystals to take the meteor out of its course.
- When everybody finally agreed, he helped create a big crystal ball to shoot the meteor out of Earth.
- After Roger calmed him down, Buck convinced Gavin to help them save Earth, saying it was "for the children", and gained three valuable flying allies in the task of discoursing the meteor.
The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild[]
- He protected Crash and Eddie when they came to the Lost World.
- He defeated Orson for a second time, preventing him from taking over and causing terror with his controlled army of dinosaurs.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He is mischievous and sometimes jerkish, making macabre jokes about Sid's possible death to scare him.
- He is also very cocky and arrogant about his abilities, especially with Zee.
- He can be a little violent to the dinosaurs, like riding on a pterosaur against their will.
Trivia[]
- If it hadn't been for Collision Course and The Adventures of Buck Wild, Buck wouldn't have been Near Pure Good, as despite being heroic, he was something of an anti-heroic character in Dawn of the Dinosaurs.
- Because Buck is returning in Ice Age: Boiling Point, there's a chance his Near Pure Good status could change.
