Brainy Smurf is a major character in Sony Pictures Animation’s The Smurfs film series, appearing as a major character in The Smurfs and a supporting character in its sequel The Smurfs 2. He is the smartest Smurf in the village and a member of the Smurf family.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
The Smurfs[]
- In the beginning of the first movie, he was one of the many Smurfs helping prepare the Blue Moon festival at the village.
- When Gargamel and Azrael were attacking the Smurf Village, he helped Papa and the other Smurfs get to safety to the forest.
- After Clumsy accidentally went to the Forbidden Waterfalls, he along with Papa, Smurfette, Grouchy, and Gutsy tried to stop him, although later they ended up in a portal to New York City.
- After being trapped in the kingdom of New York City, he along with Papa, Smurfette, Clumsy, Grouchy, and Gutsy help find a way to create a portal back home.
- When Clumsy accidentally fell into one of Patrick Winslow’s boxes, he along with Papa, Smurfette, Grouchy, and Gutsy went to the Winslow’s apartment to save him, although it turned out to be that the Winslows are friendly humans, especially Patrick’s wife; Grace Winslow.
- Knowing that first they needed a stargazer to find a way to make the spell to create the blue moon, he along with Papa, Smurfette, Clumsy, Grouchy, and Gutsy went to find a stargazer, that it was turned out to be a toy telescope.
- After accidentally creating a chaos with the children and Gargamel was trying to capture them, he helped Papa, Smurfette, and Gutsy get to safety, and later they were saved by Patrick and Grace, and Gargamel has been arrested for stealing a employee’s leaf blower.
- When they were worried about finding the way back home and Patrick was worried about getting Odile’s approval for his job, he along with Clumsy, Grouchy and Gutsy passed a fun time with Patrick by playing a rock n’roll video game with him.
- After having completely befriend the Winslows, he along with Smurfette, Clumsy, Grouchy, and Gutsy made their apartment a better place by gardening and decorating their hall, while Papa had found the perfect moment to create the blue moon.
- When Clumsy accidentally sent the Anjelou’s blue moon announcement, he along with him, Papa, Smurfette, Grouchy, and Gutsy felt remorse and sorry for ruining Patrick’s job.
- He, along with Papa, Smurfette, Grouchy, and Gutsy went to Mr. Wong’s book store, to find the magic book to find the magic spell to create the blue moon.
- When Gargamel was trying to kidnap the Smurfs with his new dragon wand, he helped Papa, Smurfette, Grouchy, and Gutsy escaped and saved themselves from Gargamel, despite later Papa sacrificed himself to save them from being captured by Gargamel.
- After Gargamel kidnapped Papa and took him to the Belvedere castle, he along with Smurfette, Grouchy, and Gutsy were worried about him.
- When Clumsy refused to go back home without Papa, he along with Smurfette, Grouchy, Gutsy, Patrick, Grace, and Elway agreed on helping him save Papa from Gargamel and Azrael.
- While Smurfette, Clumsy, Grouchy, and Patrick sneak into Belvedere castle and he managed to create the blue moon and the magic portal to Smurf Village, he went back home and brought the entire Smurf Village to help them battle Gargamel and save Papa.
- He, along with Clumsy, Grouchy, Gutsy, and the other Smurfs stand up and battle against Gargamel to give Patrick and Smurfette enough time to free Papa.
- After Clumsy defeated Gargamel and saved all Smurfkind, he along with the other Smurfs congratulated him and they even apologized to him for judging him for his clumsiness.
- When they went back home to Smurf Village, he along with the other Smurfs waved their last goodbye to Patrick and Grace and thanking them for helping them and saving them from Gargamel.
- After the Smurfs returned back home to Smurf Village and Gargamel was lost in New York City, he along with the other Smurfs rebuilt Smurf Village with some new references to New York City.
The Smurfs 2[]
- He and the other Smurfs planned a surprise birthday party for Smurfette.
- When Smurfette was being kidnapped by Vexy, he along with Clumsy, Grouchy, Vanity, Gutsy, Hefty, and Handy tried to save Smurfette and stop Vexy, but they arrived too late.
- When Papa Smurf created eleven teletransportation crystals to help them go save Smurfette and get back home, he along with Gutsy and Hefty agreed on coming with Papa to help him, although later Clumsy accidentally made the crystals flying into the air and they landed up in his, Grouchy, and Vanity’s mouths, and they later become the Smurfs coming along with Papa.
- While Papa, Clumsy, Grouchy, and Vanity went with the Winslows to save Smurfette from Gargamel and the Naughties in Paris, he took good care at the Smurf Village, while Papa was gone and he even helped the other Smurfs prepare Smurfette’s birthday surprise party.
- After Gargamel’s defeat and Papa, Smurfette, Vexy, Hackus Clumsy, Grouchy and Vanity came back home, he and the other Smurfs were happy to see Smurfette again and to meet the new Smurfs; Vexy and Hackus, accepting them as their new family members.
- After he and the other Smurfs finished preparing the surprise party, he along with Smurfette, Papa, Vexy, Hackus, and the other Smurfs celebrate Smurfette’s birthday party, celebrating her and making her remind how she is important to them.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He fails the admirable standards to Clumsy (who save all Smurfkind, and defeated Gargamel in the first film) and Smurfette (who redeemed and saved Vexy and Hackus, and defeated Gargamel in the second film).
- He can acts arrogant at times, such as presuming his knowledge and mocking Grouchy and Gutsy, making him being kicked by them.
