NOTE: This page only covers the movies' continuity version of Belka, as her TV series counterpart wasn't approved as Near Pure Good.

Belka is, along with Strelka, one of the two main protagonists of the Space Dogs franchise. She is a circus dog who ended up lost in the streets, captured and trained to become an astronaut as part of the Soviet space program. Making friends with a stray dog named Strelka, the two became the first living creatures to go to space and come back alive against all odds.

In the first movie, she was voiced by Anna Bolshova in Russian and dubbed into English by Chloe Grace.

Her Good Ranking[]

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]

  • Even before she became a hero, she was polite to people around her and valued teamwork.
  • She tried to protect Strelka and Lenny from Pirate's gang by threatening to call her friends from circus on them.
  • When the dogcatcher captured Strelka and Lenny, she chased after him and attempted to free them, which only got her captured as well.
  • She and Lenny saved Strelka from drowning after Bulya and Mulya cut her off from the oxygen supply.
  • While she and Strelka used to hate each other and often bicker and fight, they eventually grew out of this, and became genuine friends after teaming up to pass the tests.
  • When Sputnik-5 got hit by meteors and caught fire, Belka took over the controls and led the spaceship out of the meteor shower so that her crewmates could put out the fire, saving the lives of all animals on board.
  • After learning that Kazbek was accused of treason and was going to be killed, she and Strelka stole the space rocket and went to the Moon to rescue him.
  • She and Strelka tried to stop Bonnie from blowing up Kazbek's moon rover, and later fought the alien who abducted Earth's various landmarks.
  • She sympathised with the alien after learning that he only wanted to reunite with his parents, and assisted him in sending them a distress signal. This also resulted in the alien's parents returning all the stolen landmarks to their rightful places.
  • During a mission on Enceladus, she rescued Strelka from local predators.
  • She and Strelka took up the mission to investigate a mysterious vortex that was sucking up water from the Atlantic Ocean.
  • After learning that Croakagy and Pumbary were stealing water because their own planet needed it to restore its water supply, she attempted to negotiate a deal with them by offering a sample from Enceladus in exchange for them leaving the Earth alone.
  • When the aliens' ship sank, she and her friends brought it to the surface by ejecting all the stolen water.
  • When it turned out that one sample from Enceladus survived, she let Croakagy and Pumbary keep it so that they could save their planet.
  • When Strelka was accused of being responsible for failing the mission, Belka decided to share blame so that they would be punished equally.

What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]

  • While she began treating Strelka better eventually, she can still act like a jerk towards her at times. While this may be justified at times by her being frustrated at Strelka's recklessness, there are also moments of her being rude to her for little to no reason and bickering over something petty.
  • She has a wrathful moment of threatening Kazbek with a car lever just because he demanded a sitrep from her instead of immediately going after their son.
