| “ | Gotham has fallen silent. The night is no longer broken by the sounds of crime. Children are no longer woken by the sudden crack of a gunshot. There are no more cries in the darkness. No tires screech as wailing sirens chase desperate men and women through narrow streets. In a way, it is the Gotham I always dreamed of. But this is no dream. This is a perversion. This is a nightmare. It is the silence of fear. It is a silence only broken by the sound of marching feet. A sound that echoes around the world. Marching feet. The rhythm of dictators. Our world is now ruled by the iron fist - of a man of steel. | „ |
| ~ Batman's opening monologue |
| “ | He was a good friend once. I trusted him with my life. But the Joker got to him and I wasn't there to stop it. I lost my friend Clark. I've missed him ever since. | „ |
| ~ Batman to Supergirl. |
Bruce Wayne, better known as Batman, is the main protagonist of the Injustice franchise. He is the vigilante and protector of Gotham City, just like his original comics incarnation. However, after Superman becomes a tyrannical dictator due to a series of events maliciously orchestrated by the Joker, Batman rises up against him and his rule, creating the Insurgency, the main opposing group to Superman's Regime.
He was voiced by the late Kevin Conroy, who voiced also other versions of the character.
His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
In General[]
- Just like his mainstream counterpart, he protects Gotham City from criminals and crime on a daily basis.
Injustice series[]
- He had a good relationship with the other heroes, believing fiercely the Joker would never corrupt Superman.
- However, once Joker got into Superman's head, he was shocked that his arch-enemy was right after Superman killed him.
- After Superman's fall to evil, he created the Insurgence to defeat him and take down the Regime.
- Even with many of his former allies joining Superman's Regime, he stays with his morals and stays incorruptible.
- He is willing to forgive redeemed villains such as Harley Quinn (despite her playing a role in Metropolis' destruction, thus causing the main conflict of the entire series) and Deathstroke, and allowed them to help the Insurgency take down the Regime.
- He loved his adoptive son and former sidekick, Dick Grayson, with his death leaving him heavily distraught.
- In the comics, he listens to Dick's advice about forgiving Damian Wayne for murdering him.
- Although he was initially skeptical of the Original Universe's Superman, he eventually realized he wasn't like his Superman, and warmed up to him.
- He does not hold grudges against those who want to change for the better, allowing the Flash and Green Lantern, former members of the Regime, to enter the Insurgency, while also doing this for Harley despite her having been the Joker's right-hand woman.
- Even if that is what technically caused Superman's fall to evil, Batman's extreme reluctance in killing is still for heroic and admirable ideals. It was shown when he created a weapon to take down Superman, but not to kill him, or when he made Superman stop trying to murder Brainiac.
- Despite everything that's happened between the two, Bruce has tried to redeem Clark several times by reminding him the good man and legendary hero who he once was, sadly to no avail.
- Eventually brought the Regime and Superman to an end.
- He sends Black Canary, Green Arrow, and Harley Quinn on a mission to investigate Scarecrow's fear gas shipment to Grodd's Society.
- He also states the reason he can't come with them because he can't leave Gotham without making the public worried.
- He offered to let Black Canary and Green Arrow take a break from their mission, as they had started a family, though Black Canary respectfully rejected the offer.
- He accepts Hal Jordan's redemption and apology and lets him work with him and the Flash.
- He stops Firestorm from trying to stop Black Adam, Cyborg, Damian, Supergirl, and Wonder Woman by going nuclear, as that would've blown up Metropolis.
- When both coalitions of Batman and Superman joining forces together to stop Brainiac, He takes the leadership role and says directly that nobody kills anyone.
- He, along with Catwoman, Superman, and Supergirl attempt to stop Brainiac from taking Metropolis, unfortunately they aren't successful.
- He comforts Supergirl after Superman's "death" and reveals his past relationship with him, and how he misses who he once was.
- He doesn't accept Brainiac's deal of sparing earth if the heroes give him Supergirl, as he knew Brainiac was almost certainly lying.
- He freed Firestorm and Swamp Thing from their mind-controls from Brainiac.
- He seemed genuinely concerned when Superman decided to pilot the skull ship so that it wouldn't crash into earth, telling Superman what he's doing could kill him.
- He stops Brainiac from attempting to harm Supergirl.
- He is one of key elements to save the earth from Brainiac, as he created Brother eye, which is a guardian of the world, coordinating the attack against Brainiac.
- He was also the one who won the final battle against Brainiac.
- After Brainiac's defeat, he tells Superman not to kill him, as they still needed Brainiac alive for them to return the remaining cities on the skull ship, meaning despite how irredeemable and dangerous Brainiac is, he wanted him alive for a good reason.
- After he defeated Superman and his allies again, he prepares to send Clark to the Phantom Zone, but let's Supergirl interact with him one last time before sending him away.
- Invited Supergirl to join the Insurgency following Superman's defeat. He also does this by specifically welcoming her to his "circle of trust", meaning he considers her both a teammate and a friend.
- In his non-canon ending in Injustice 2 he leads the reconstruction of cities which were destroyed after Brainiac's attack.
- At the same time, he prepares everything for a return of Superman.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- Despite his extreme unwillingness to kill, he is still far too violent for Pure Good due to his brutal fighting methods, including punching criminals until they get knocked out.
- Even Damian Wayne points out that he’s fine with traumatic head injuries whilst drawing the line at killing.
- Like most versions of Batman, he can be stubborn and a jerk to other people, even to his allies at times. The Green Arrow from the main universe even admitted this during his fight with Batman's son, Damian.
- He harshly disowned his son, Damian. Back when Damian accidentally killed Dick Grayson during the jailbreak at Arkham, Batman became cold and distant from him, and this made Damian resent him deeply. When Damian allied with Superman and joined the Regime, Batman no longer considered him his son. However, it is understandable since Damian killed Victor Zsasz in front of him and joined the Regime, who are mass murdering dictators, and killed Grayson, whom he also raised and cared for like a son, so this is a minor prevention.
- Additionally in Damian Wayne's non-canon ending, Batman saved him from being killed by Brainiac, showing that despite disowning Damian, he still loved him.
- Also, in The Masters of The Universe crossover where Wonder Woman kills Damian after Damian tried to save him, he has a devastated expression on his face also showing he truly still loved Damian.
- Additionally in Damian Wayne's non-canon ending, Batman saved him from being killed by Brainiac, showing that despite disowning Damian, he still loved him.

- He's hypocritical, as he was valiantly against other members of the insurgency committing acts of murder, yet hires the mercenary, Deathstroke, who goes on to murder (implied) several soldiers in a warehouse, before murdering the superhero Metamorpho.
