Barbatos, also known as Anemo Archon, Lord Barbatos, the God of Freedom, or Venti, is a major character in the 2020 role-playing video game, Genshin Impact. He serves as the deuteragonist of the Prologue chapter in the Archon Quests, serving as the overarching protagonist of the first act and the main protagonist of the second and third acts, and the main protagonist of his own Story Quest.
Once a simple elemental spirit, Barbatos became a divinity once the tyrannical Decabrian was defeated. Becoming the new Anemo Archon, the God of Freedom. He wanted to make so the nation of Mondstadt into one where the people follow its own rules rather than an Archon's. However, due to his constant inactivity, he was considered to be the least powerful of the Seven Archons. Over the next two millennia, he spent a long time asleep, usually only interfering directly when his people or their freedom was threatened. When he wanted to visit Mondstadt, he did so under the guise of the easy going and free-spirited bard, Venti.
Venti is voiced by Miao Jiang in Chinese, Ayumu Murase in Japanese, Jung Yoo-jung in Korean, and Erika Harlacher (who also voiced Ann Takamaki from Persona 5) in English.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- While he was a wisp of wind, he helped overthrow Decarabian rule of Old Mondstadt along with the Unnamed Bard, putting an end to his elitist rule once and for all.
- He shows kindness to the Unnamed Bard by taking his form after his death in remembrance.
- Helped Vennessa, a gladiator, overthrow the Lawrence aristocracy along with defeating Ursa the Drake.
- He helped found the Knights of Favonius in order to protect Mondstadt and its freedom.
- Was implied to be the one who soothed Xiao's pains with his music, after exposure to the remnants of deceased gods after a long battle.
- During the Cataclysm, he saved Mondstadt from Durin with his fellow dragon Dvalin, even letting him sacrifice himself to put an end to the artificial dragon.
- Attempted to heal Dvalin of his corruption before the Traveler arrived and accidently interrupted Venti.
- Tried to disclose his true identity to nun Gothelinde to obtain the Holy Lyre der Himmel to purify Dvalin's blood clot.
- Confronts Dvalin on Starsnatch Cliff in an attempt to reduce the Abyssal influence from him.
- He uses his music to lower the barrier surrounding Stormterror's Lair, allowing the Traveler to confront Dvalin there.
- Temporarily comforts Barbara who freaks out at the destruction of the Holy Lyre der Himmel, by making it appear as normal for a while.
- Lays the spirit of the original Stanley to rest, still being able to perform his godly duties without a Gnosis.
- Sorted out the issue with disorderly wind currents along with the Traveler in preparation for Dvalin's arrival for the Windblume Festival.
- In Hues of the Violet Garden, was involved in Ayato's scheme to reveal the secret behind the Case of the Eccentric to Kazuha.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He provided a few mischievous moments such as the moment he used his wind powers to attempt taking Mona's clothes off in one of Mona's voice lines about Venti, though it was played for laughs instead of total perversion.
- He neglects his duties in ruling Mondstadt, only intervening during major crises. However, this is due to Venti's belief in allowing the people of Mondstadt to rule themselves, with the English dub making him a lot less negligent due to that version's Signora not voicing her dismay towards his negligent rule.
