Astérix is the titular main protagonist of the Asterix franchise. In these works, Asterix and his best friend Obelix, using a magic potion brewed by the druid Panoramix, are fighting the Romans, led by Caesar, who invaded Gaul, and the heroes have to travel to different countries and regions, both European (Britain, Greece, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Caledonia), and and more exotic (Egypt, America, the Middle East, India, Atlantis, Barbaricon).
He has mostly been voiced by the late Roger Carel from 1967 to 2014 and has been voiced by Christian Clavier, who also portrayed him in the first two live action movies and he currently voiced by Jean-Claude Donda. In Asterix Conquers America’s english dub he was voiced by Craig Charles.

In General[]

- He tells Julius Caesar the plan of centurion Fonus Bolvanus to overthrow the emperor and seize power himself, for which Caesar releases Asterix and Panoramix and they return to their village, and Fonus Bolvanus is removed from the post of centurion.
Asterix and Cleopatra[]
- He and Obelix agreed to help the Egyptian architect Numerobis build a luxurious palace for Cleopatra in 3 months.

What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He is sometimes rude to Obelix, as he often gets annoyed and insults him for his stupidity.
- He likes to fight and beat his enemies hard. Although this is portrayed for laughs, and is perceived more as a childish prank than sadism, so this is a minor prevention.
- His Justforkix training was too hard and harsh, and unlike Obelix, he wasn't going to let him go without finishing his training. Although over time, he gets much softer towards him, so it's a small prevention.
