NOTE: This articles is only for the novel version of Artemis Fowl II, as his film version was not voted Near Pure Good.

Artemis Fowl is the main protagonist of the series by Eoin Colfer of the same name, and a supporting offscreen character in the Fowl Twins series.

He is the last member of the Fowl Clan, a renowned family of criminals, looking for a Book from the Fairies that can help him regain his family's lost fortune. However, his plan fails, and he ends up getting stuck with a fairy captain named Holly, to help her stop a megalomaniacal pixie named Opal Koboi, who wishes to wipe out humans.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]

  • Helped his older self defeat Opal Koboi.
  • Embarked on a plan to save his father from the Russian Mafia, even if his ways of doing it were rather illegal.
  • Even as a villain, and showed little to no emotion, he had a sense of honor, as he didn’t want to hurt anyone really and only kidnapped Holly (also showing some standards), and showed love as he had a crush on Juliet Butler.
  • He redeemed himself.
  • Always has plans that saves him and his friends.
  • He helped the underground defeat the goblin gangs, Briar Cudgeon, and the Approved Pure Evil Opal Koboi.
  • Retrieved the C-Cube from Jon Spiro and possibly had it destroyed so it couldn’t uncover anymore fairy information.
    • He also indirectly sent Jon Spiro to prison to prevent him harming anyone ever again.
      • He also sent 90% of the $2.5 billion dollars of Spiro's wealth to Amnesty International instead of keeping it for himself.
  • Disguised his video diary of his memories of and adventures with the LEP as the gold medallion Holly gave him to return his memories taken by the mindwipe, allowing him to devise a plan to stop Opal from destroying Haven City.
    • Which allowed him to stop Opal Koboi again with the big plan he made to stop her crowning herself queen of the world.
  • Comforted Holly about the death of Commander Root even though his memories were erased and he remembered nothing about him.
  • Helped defeat Opal Koboi after regaining his memories.
  • Is a good and kind brother to Myles and Beckett.
  • Helps N°1 out.
  • Used the neutrino and time lapse to his advantage to prevent Holly,Number 1, and Qwan from being murdered by Abott in the first place.
  • Entered the magic circle to help the other magical beings in getting back to earth.
  • Went through time to get a specific, extinct lemur to cure his mother.
  • Made up to Holly after blackmailing her by setting up a Hologram call to Commander Root so she could say good-bye.
  • Defeated Turnball Root, Julius’s older brother.
  • He eventually helped defeat Opal Koboi for good, by tricking her into spouting her murderous intentions, and getting her murdered by Oro, the leader of the Berserkers, whom she had had bonded to her with the rest of the Berserkers.
  • Tells Holly and Butler a final goodbye before his temporary death.
  • In The Fowl Twins, it is said he became an astronaut to discover any life forms beyond the grasp of humanity.
  • He also sent Commodore Short a video convincing her that Myles and Beckett should not be mindwiped because they were possessed by fairy spirits, indirectly leading to his younger brothers defeating Lord Teddy once and for all and sending all members of the Bleedham-drye family to the afterlife.

What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]

  • Despite subverting most of his corrupting qualities by the end of the original series, in The Fowls Twins Get What They Deserve, it is said he went on a date with Minerva, but they broke up because he was more in love with himself. However, given how selfless he is later in the main series and subverting his greed, this is still a rather minor prevention.

Trivia[]

  • He, the novel version of Foaly, and both the novel and film versions of Holly Short are the only Artemis Fowl characters to be considered NPG.
  • His film counterpart cannot be Near Pure Good as he fails the admirable standards too much with his resources.
