Waku Waku! (So exciting!)
~ Anya's most famous and adorable catchphrase

Anya Forger is the deuteragonist of the Spy × Family franchise.

She is the adoptive daughter of Loid Forger and Yor Forger, having been taking under Loid's care as part of his current mission. In her past life, she is an orphan known as Test Subject 007, where an accidental creation gave her telepathic abilities.

She was voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki in Japanese (who also voiced Emporio Alniño from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean) and by Megan Shipman (and temporary by Bryn Apprill, who also voiced Historia Reiss from Attack on Titan series) in English.

Her Good Ranking[]

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]

In General[]

  • She is mostly a positive influence on most characters she closely interacted with such as: her father Loid, her mother Yor, Bond, Becky, Franky, and even more serious characters like Damian and Yuri.
  • While her actions appear very standard when compared to her adoptive parents, given they've done more admirable deeds than her, she still manages to stand out given her significantly lower resources due to the fact that she's only a child and her only talent/power is simply mind reading.
  • Despite being a very young age, she has a clear moral agency as she can tell good and bad people apart from each other just by reading their minds.
  • While she does gets herself and others into troublesome situations, most of the time it's either completely unintentional or simply a result of poor judgement due to her young age, rather than maliciousness or mischief.

Spy × Family[]

  • Although she gets her father into trouble by revealing their location to Edgar while messing around with his spy kit, this was completely accidental as Anya was not aware of the seriousness and devastating consequences of Loid's spy work. Considering that she later on appears to take the mission much more seriously, it's likely that she's learned her lesson and as such, subverted this potential corrupting quality.
  • Instead of going to the police station, she came back to Loid for the sake of his mission.
  • She ended up having Loid and Yor become engaged together by pretending to cry and be upset about lacking a mother for their pretend family.
  • Helps Loid locate the thief by reading the minds of all the citizens in the area and drawing his attention to the thief by making it appear as if she were pointing at a cake shop because she was hungry.
  • When a young student got stuck in a gutter, she asked her parents to help him out.
  • She apologized to Loid and Yor while feeling extremely bad for not doing good enough in the interview since she got emotional when her biological parents were mentioned even though it wasn't her fault, knowing her performance would potentially jeopardize her father's mission.
  • Her positive influence caused her friend Becky to become a much nicer person whereas before, she was an alpha spoiled brat.
  • Although she punched Damian in the face during their first encounter, granting him her first Tonitrus Bolt, it was rather deserved at the time since Damian and his friends were bullying her and Becky. She also felt remorse over this act and later tearfully apologizes to him the next time they see each other.
  • Despite her rocky, questionable relationship with Damian, she still helps him when he gets into trouble. For instance, she stood up for him when George attempted to falsely accuse Damian by pretending the latter punched him.
    • As a result, she also unknowingly became a more positive influence on Damian, who started to give up his bullying ways and became much nicer despite denying it after getting punched by Anya and is even willing to make friends with her.
  • Attempted to save Ken from drowning despite not knowing how to swim. While she wasn't able to save him herself, her actions alerted Loid, who saved the both of them. This action earned Anya her first Stella Star.
  • Grabbed the terrorist Hurry Taylar by his suit when he tried to flee and shouted that she was being kidnapped by him to get Yor's attention, who was able to make short work of him once she noticed.
  • After seeing the future by reading Bond's mind, she sees her father's ultimately fated death, she outgoingly tries to prevent it.
  • Wrote a warning message to her father about the bomb using ketchup, this made him notice and had reinforcements disarm it, saving his life and many others in the process.
  • Despite Bond's giant size, she still wanted to keep and raise him.
  • She stopped a Red Circus goon from poisoning and killing Yor and later stopped him from killing her as well as the rest of the people in the restaurant. She also suggested him to live a normal life and be with his girlfriend, leading to him dropping his revenge and redeeming himself.
  • She helped Yor two times in her Cruise mission:
    • During Yor's fight with the assassin Sickle-and-Chain Barnaby, Anya stalled her father in a dressing room to avoid him witnessing the conflict and pretended it was a all circus act to deceive the other nearby passengers as to not blow her mother's cover.
    • She found Yor's missing stiletto and threw to her, helping Yor win the fight against the Swordsman. Additionally, she also made a nearby assassin slip on it and fall, simultaneously saving Olka Gretcher's life in the process.
  • She identifies a bomb hidden inside Princess Lorelei's clock by reading the Assassin Leader's mind and makes a member of the staff check on it with the pretense of cleaning it up. This leads to Loid finding out the bomb and then getting rid of it, saving the lives of everyone in the ship.
  • During Donna Schlag's inspection, she saves Damian from getting a Tonitrus Bolt by lending him her handkerchief after he had forgotten his. An action that ends up earning her her second Tonitrus.
  • Stopped Billy Squire from his plans to keep the students hostage by appealing to his better nature, leading him to surrender and spare the students.
  • After reading the mind of the ski lounge owner and realizing he plans to murder his clients out of frustration towards them, Anya guided Loid towards his activities, leading to Loid stopping him and the owner getting arrested.

Spy × Family: Code White[]

  • Noticing that her mother was feeling insecure about her relationship, Anya sets them up by getting Yor and Loid alone in the ferris wheel, where they could make up from their misunderstanding.
  • Upon learning that the microfilm she had seemingly ingested contained sensitive information that could reignite a war, Anya tried her best to hold in her bowel movements as to prevent Snidel from getting his hands on it.
  • She, alongside her family, stop the Military Intelligence's airship from crashing into Frigis, saving millions of lives in the process.

What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]

  • She is rather mischievous at times, often abusing her mind reading powers to get what she wants (especially at school). She also sometimes disobeys her parents for no good reason, such as when she pulled a book lever that leads to a hidden passage and snuck into it, despite Loid telling her not to touch it. However, this is mostly due to her being a child, so this is a minor inconvenience.
  • She can be genuinely arrogant at times and occasionally lets her egotism get the best of her, such as when she pridefully tells Becky to call her "Starlight Anya" after receiving her first Stella. She's also shown to be very competitive in the school's social landscape, becoming paranoid that even her friends could be trying to outclass her in popularity. However, this is also because she is still a child so this is a minor inconvenience.
  • While she's nice to Damian, it could be argued she's doing it for pragmatic reasons as opposed to actually having a liking for him since she's primarily motivated solely by her father's mission to achieve world peace and otherwise, finds Damian rude and annoying at times. However, considering she progressively mellows out to him after slowly finding out about his rocky family life, this is a minor prevention that will likely be subverted completely as the series progresses.

Trivia[]

  • So far, she and her adoptive father, Loid, are the only Spy × Family characters to be Near Pure Good.
