Scott Edward Harris Lang, also known as Ant-Man, is one of the main protagonists of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
He is portrayed by Paul Rudd, as Jackson Dunn, Lee Moore, and Bazlo and Loen LeClair played the character at different ages in Avengers: Endgame.
His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
In General[]
- He genuinely cares about his daughter Cassie and would do anything to make her happy.
- Despite the MCU's high admirable standards, he stands out for helping the Avengers go back in time and gathering all of the Infinity Stones to resurrect everybody Thanos had killed, as well as stopping Kang from conquering more worlds in the Quantum Realm. He also stands out for his lesser resources compared to Iron Man, Captain America and Thor.
Ant-Man[]
- While he wasn't invited to his daughter Cassie's birthday party, he still at least gave her an ugly rabbit toy to make up for it.
- After he steals Hank Pym's suit and gets arrested again, Scott accepts Hank's offer for a second chance in life and abandons his past life as a thief.
- He studies how the Ant-Man suit works and added some modifications to it.
- He listens to Hank Pym's warning about not messing with the regulator on his suit.
- He receives training from Hope van Dyne for his fighting skills and Hank Pym for how to use the Pym Particle Discs and communicate with ants.
- As soon as he encounters the ants, he befriends Ant-thony.
- While he did fight Falcon and disable his wings, he did not mean any actual harm against him and apologized soon after before leaving the scene.
- He tries to convince Hank to enlist his friends or “the Three Wombats”.
- Successfully defeating Darren Cross by disabling his suit and disintegrating him, saving Cassie Lang's life in the process.
- While he was in the Quantum Realm, he realizes that Janet van Dyne is still alive and he tells Hank Pym about this.
- When his friend Luis tells him that Falcon is impressed by his fighting skills and wants him to join the Avengers, he gladly accepts.
Captain America: Civil War[]
- He is a big fan of Captain America, so when he met Steve, Clint, Sam and Wanda, he thanked them for their support and fights alongside them.
Ant-Man and the Wasp[]
- He rescues Hope and Hank from custody.
- He stops Sonny Burch from stealing Hank Pym's lab.
- Saved Wasp from getting hit by Ghost.
Avengers: Endgame[]
- After being freed from the Quantum Realm, he revisits Cassie and tells her how much he misses her and they hug.
- He tells all the Avengers about his plan on bringing everybody back from the Snap using time travel in the Quantum Realm and recruits Tony Stark, whom he reconciles with, and Bruce Banner to help him. With this idea, Tony Stark and Rocket Raccoon build another Quantum Tunnel so that all the Avengers can retrieve the Infinity Stones.
- After failing to retrieve the Tesseract, Scott uses one more Pym particle to send Tony and Steve into 1970s S.H.I.E.L.D. to retrieve another Tesseract.
- When he came back into 2023, he mourns Natasha Romanoff's sacrifice after realizing she died trying to save Clint Barton's life.
- Alongside the rest of the Avengers, he fights against Thanos and his forces.
- He kneels for Tony Stark's sacrifice and mourns his death in his funeral out of respect.
Hawkeye[]
- At some point, he gave Clint Barton some Pym Particles he could use in his trick arrows.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania[]
- He wrote a book about how he saved the world.
- Along with Hope, he bailed his daughter Cassie out of jail.
- When he learns that his daughter has been arrested before already, Scott was the only person who was concerned for her actions despite of her wanting to help people who have been snapped away for 5 years, even saying that he doesn't want her wasting her life, most likely because he didn't want her to make similar mistakes he made in his criminal past.
- After getting into the Quantum Realm, he saves Cassie from falling to her death.
- After he and Cassie were captured by the Freedom Fighters, they were made known of Kang's existence and helps them as soon as they were attacked.
- With the assistance of Hope, he defeats Kang and having him sucked into the Power Core, saving thousands of Freedom Fighters' lives and also the entire multiverse.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He still has a few jerkish moments, as well as some lethality. Such moments include calling Jim Paxton an asshat, rudely asking him why he got engaged with Maggie, making jerkish comments towards Tony Stark and nearly destroying his suit from the inside, and also trying to put the blame for Hope and Scott’s relationship on Hope when Hank found out.
Trivia[]
- He was originally Pure Good but was removed for being too jerkish.
