Ann Takamaki, codenamed Panther while in the Metaverse, is one of the two tritagonists (alongside Ryuji Sakamoto) and party members of the Persona 5 sub-series within the Persona series.

She is a student at Shujin Academy who works part-time as a model. After she realized that Suguru Kamoshida is behind the reason her best friend Shiho Suzui attempted to commit suicide, she joins the Phantom Thieves of Hearts in order to change his heart.

She is voiced by Nana Mizuki (who dubbed Captain Marvel in the Japanese version of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games film series) in the Japanese version and by Erika Harlacher, who voiced Barbatos/Venti in the English version.

Her Good Ranking[]

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]

  • She was one of the few people at the beginning of the game who didn't believe that Ren was a bad person as many though that he was, since she knew that it were just rumors.
  • Helped changed the heart of Suguru Kamoshida, a corrupt and ephebophilic Pure Evil teacher who sexually abuses female students, abuses male students, and is heavily implied to have raped her best friend Shiho to the point where she attempted suicide.
  • She also helped changed the heart of Ichiryusai Madarame; an art teacher who is secretly a con artist who plagiarized off his own pupils and abused them to the point one of them committed suicide, and also left Yusuke's mother to die so that he could steal her art to forge as his own, Junya Kaneshiro; a yakuza boss who tried to rape Makoto and threatened to turn her and her sister into sex slaves; Kunikazu Okumura; a corrupt CEO who tried to force his daughter to marry an arrogant creep; and Masayoshi Shido, a corrupt politician who is the mastermind behind most of the game's events and manipulated his own illegitimate son into being a serial killer who he used as a pawn to kill off his business rivals and many others.
  • She helped defeat Goro Akechi in Shido's palace.
  • She helped stop Yaldabaoth, a false god who orchestrated the game's events, attempted to wipe out all of humanity, and trapped them in a totalitarian state. Yaldabaoth also imprisoned Igor, impersonated him, and split his own assistant Lavenza into two beings.
  • As she previously disliked Makoto, she finds it in her heart to forgive her after she decides to hear her side of the story regarding Kamoshida.
  • In Persona 5 Royal, she helps defeat Takuto Maruki and return reality to normal.
  • In Persona 5 Strikers she helped stopped more criminals, most notably Akira Konoe, a CEO of a multi-billion dollar IT company who acted as a Knight Templar all the while he ruined many peoples' live and tried to enslave everyone using EMMA, Kuon Ichinose, the creator of EMMA, and EMMA itself, who used countless people for its own gain in attempt to enslave the world.

What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]

  • She fails the admirable standards to Ryuji Sakamoto. Unlike him, who almost kills himself to save the Phantom Thieves in Shido's Palace, Ann really doesn't have a big moment that pushes her beyond, and because of that, she blends in with the rest of her team.
  • She sometimes acts like a jerk against Ryuji and constantly tells him that he's stupid and dumb when she isn't much smarter than him.
  • She and the rest of the girls in her team were implied to beat up Ryuji after nearly sacrificing himself in Shido's palace for making them think he died.
