Anguirus is the deuteragonist of the Showa era Godzilla timeline, serving as a major protagonist in Destroy All Monsters, the deuteragonist of Godzilla vs. Gigan, a minor protagonist in Godzilla vs. Megalon, and a supporting protagonist in Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla. He is an ankylosaurus-esk Kaiju who is often considered Godzilla's best friend and most loyal ally.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]

Godzilla vs. Gigan[]

Upon overhearing hearing the M Space Hunter nebula aliens action tapes which revealed that they were planning on invading earth, he swam to Japan under Godzilla's orders to go investigate.
After the JSDF mistakenly took him for a threat and attacked him, he swam back to recruit Godzilla to help him and then swam back to Japan again to solve the problem.
Helped Godzilla fight against the M Space Hunter Nebula Aliens' monsters, King Ghidorah and Gigan.
When Gigan was blocking his way from saving Godzilla who was getting attacked by the Space Hunter Nebula Aliens using the Godzilla Tower, he still tried to push him out of his way in order to save Godzilla despite the fact that it ultimately led to him getting slashed in the face by Gigan's buzzsaw.
After the humans managed to take out the Space Hunter Nebula Aliens including Fumio and Kabuta, he and Godzilla successfully managed to defeat King Ghidorah and Gigan and have them retreat.

Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla[]

Upon traveling to Japan after an earthquake occurred on monster island and sensing danger, he encountered "Godzilla" going on a rampage and immediately figured out it was an imposter and tried to stop it. In reality, it was really Mechagodzilla in disguise.
After Fake Godzilla/Mechagodzilla severely injured him by breaking his jaw, Anguirus retreated and managed to alert Godzilla of Fake Godzilla/Mechagodzilla's presence which led to Godzilla and Mechagodzilla facing off in an industrial area.

Destroy All Monsters[]

While he temporarily gets mind controlled by the Kilaaks into destroying several cities, he alongside the other monsters on Monster Island eventually get freed from their control and go against them.
He successfully defeated King Ghidorah once and for all alongside Godzilla, Minilla, and Gorosaurus.

What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]

He fails the admirable standards compared to Godzilla and Mothra.
He is lethal as he participated in beating King Ghidorah to death alongside Godzilla, Gorosaurus, and Minilla. Though it’s impossible to genuinely feel sorry for King Ghidorah due to how evil he is.
