| ~ Alan about Rexy, his most famous quote |
| “ | Dinosaurs lived sixty five million years ago. What is left of them is fossilized in the rocks, and it is in the rock that real scientists make real discoveries. Now what John Hammond and InGen did at Jurassic Park is create genetically engineered theme park monsters, nothing more and nothing less. | „ |
| ~ Alan regarding InGen's cloned dinosaurs which ultimately not necessarily same as their extinct counterparts. |

His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
In General[]
- He is a dedicated paleontologist through and through, as reflected by his decision to accept Hammond's invitation to Jurassic Park at Isla Nublar in exchange of a further three years of dig funding.
- He truly cares for his colleague Ellie Sattler, even confiding her about everything he does.
Jurassic Park[]
- He warns Hammond about Jurassic Park's ecological situation, showing that his fascination with dinosaurs allowed him to understand them better than the latter ever been (ex. cloned dinosaurs being no doubt as dangerous as their extinct counterparts).
- He discovered hidden dinosaur eggs which had already hatched, confirming InGen's decision to use frog DNA as part of the procedure to clone dinosaurs for Jurassic Park led to them inheriting said frogs' ability to reproduce via. parthenogenesis triggered by absence of male — cloned dinosaurs were created as females so they won't propagate.
- Attempts to distract the escaped Tyrannosaurus when she threatened Hammond's two grandchildren.
- He warned Malcolm not to try to draw the rampaging Tyrannosaurus's attention like he did knowing the dinosaur, risking his life in process.
- Saving Lex and Tim from the same Tyrannosaurus' rampage before they were forced to travel through dinosaur-inhabited parts of the island in order to reach Visitor Center. As he did, he bonded with the siblings thus allowing him to get over his distaste toward children.
- Locating Ellie after ensuring Tim and Lex being safe and sound at Visitor Center.
- Contacts John Hammond to implore him to call in helicopters as soon as communication lines properly restored by Lex.
- Tries his best to hold off escaped raptors before joining the others in escaping through ventilation duct. He also helped Lex when she nearly fell due to one of raptors' attempt on her life.
- Making one last stand to protect Ellie, Tim, and Lex against the raptor only for their escape ensured by the Tyrannosaurus' unexpected arrival.
- Comforts Hammond as he lamented the downfall of his park.
Jurassic Park III[]
- Keeping in touch with Ellie and even teaching her daughter about dinosaurs.
- Agrees to accompany Kirby family to Isla Sorna for a less-than-legal tour there despite they turned out trying to find their missing son and friend there.
- Using his knowledge about dinosaurs and experience at Jurassic Park to help the Kirby family as they try to survive Isla Sorna.
- Attempts to stop Amanda from using the voice amplifier to call out for Eric and Ben, knowing she would draw the attention of carnivorous dinosaurs there.
- Saving Amanda from the reach of Spinosaurus who crashed their plane.
- Implored his companions to freeze when they stumbled upon a Tyrannosaurus, though they ended up fleeing since it appeared the dinosaur had better eyesight than the one he encountered at Isla Nublar.
- Implored Paul to keep Amanda close when they found Ben's remains.
- Reprimanded Billy for stealing raptor eggs, especially after noticing them not after him and his companions as their would-be preys.
- Acknowledging Eric's achievement of living long enough for him and his parents to come to his rescue, as well as Paul and Amanda's efforts to trick him to accompany them despite their initially strained relationship.
- Attempting to stop Billy from recklessly using a parachute to save Eric. He also lamented his said friend's sacrifice so they could escape aviary.
- Managed to contact Ellie right in the middle of their final confrontation against the Spinosaurus.
- Firing a flare gun at Spinosaurs as it attempted to devour Paul, igniting the boat fuel and causing a fire that forced the dinosaur to flee and providing a challenging cover for Paul to sneak away from the beast.
- Returning Billy's stolen raptor eggs to their angry parents.
- Making amends with Billy who revealed to be saved by army whose presence presumably deterred the Spinosaurus from attacking them again.
- Despite the sordid encounter with giant pterosaurs earlier, he harbored no misgivings towards them when the same flock flew past the marine escort.
Jurassic World: Dominion[]
- Teaming up with Ellie to bring down Biosyn in a bid to end its bioweapon experiments, namely the locust program.
- In addition of saving Maisie, they joined forces with Owen who alco confronted Biosyn not just for kidnapping Maisie, but also to rescue Beta for Blue's sake.
- Saving Ellie and Maise from Dimetrodons.
- Saving Henry Wu so he could redeem himself and end Biosyn's locust program.
- He and Ellie rekindle their relationship as they set out for Washington D.C. to testify against Biosyn for the locust and other bioweapon experiments.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- Although he subverts most of the corrupting traits, he is still shown to be prone to anger, shown when he angrily punches Paul Kirby and even abandons the search for his son (forced but still), as well as mocking the boy and angrily telling Billy that he is no better than the Jurassic Park builders. He does later show regret for at least some of this, but it is shown as a loss of control due to rage more than once.
