Odalia! You made a deal with your daughter, and a Blight always upholds their end of the deal. Besides, she's getting stronger. Strong enough to become a coven head someday...
~ Alador convincing his wife to let their daughter get back with her friends.
What's best for the family... is putting an end to all this!
~ Alador rejecting his wife's allegiance with Belos as he destroys their factory.

Alador Blight is a supporting character in Disney's fantasy-adventure animated series, The Owl House.

He is the patriarch of the Blight family, being father of Amity, Edric and Emira Blight, as well as ex-husband and tormented abuse victim of Odalia Blight. He is the chief-scientist of Blight Industries, a corporation focused on producing Abomination based products for property protection and self-defense. While he initially seems a cold and apathetic individual who cares mostly about his work, he is revealed to be a kind, yet overworked, man, who tries to fix his mistakes and get closer to the children he never managed to bond with, especially Amity.

He is voiced by Jim Pirri.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]

  • He cared for his family despite often being distant, giving Amity mittens whenever she got cold.
  • While he helped Odalia use Luz to test the Abomatons, he told Luz to duck so she wouldn't get hit, and when Odalia started trying to outright kill Luz with the Abomaton, he said the crowd got the point and they should stop.
  • He stopped Odalia from going back on her word and not readmitting Luz, Willow and Gus in Hexside, remembering how a "Blight always keep their word end of the deal", and convincing her with the argument that Amity is getting stronger thanks to her friends.
  • While he didn't allow Amity to go to Bonesborough Brawl, this was because it was at the same day of the Coven Tyrouts, which he genuinely thought was good for her due to Odalia.
  • He helped fight against the giantified Warden Wrath, before later allowed Amity to help him after she stands up to him by saying she can make her decisions without him getting in her way.
  • He finally realized how he was not spending enough time with his children, and tried to cheer Amity up by saying he liked her new hair color and accepted her decision of not joining a coven.
  • While he attempt to pull Amity out of Bonesborough Brawl against her wishes and wouldn't let her help him fight against Warden Wrath might seems jerkish, this is because the former was due to Amity disobeying him and the latter was trying to protect her.
  • He began rethinking his parenting, deciding to spend more time with his children and get to know them.
  • Upon talking to a coven scout (while unaware he's actually King in disguise) and finding out about the true purpose of the Day of Unity, he quickly helped the Hexsquad in their mission to stop it, warning Odalia and becoming shocked and disgusted upon finding out she was complicit in it.
  • He fought his wife and destroyed his whole Abomaton factory.
  • He brought "Luz", Willow, Gus and Amity to a flying ship so they could get to the Emperor's Castle and save "Hunter".
  • While a fight broke out on the airship between him and Hunter, it was heating up moment out of nervousness, and he mellowed out and allowed Hunter to pilot the ship.
  • When the ship crashed, Alador stayed behind to fight his own Abomatons, kissing Amity before fighting them to allow the Hexsquad to get to the castle.
  • He was overjoyed to see Amity again after Belos was defeated.
  • He created a way to remove sigils from people's wrists that did not involve amputation, allowing Wild Magic to be used again and removing the very last of Belos's influence upon the Isles forever.
  • While he was indirectly complicit in Odalia's abuse, and participated in threatening Amity with expelling Willow if Amity kept being her friend, not only were most of his participation is more of inaction than outright abuse, but he was also manipulated by Odalia into helping threatening Amity. He subverted all of these factors upon getting to know his children better and becoming a better father to Amity, as well as standing up to Odalia.
  • While he did briefly act hostile to Hunter, he did apologize for it.

What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]

  • He fails the admirable standards to characters with less or similar resources who did more than him, such as Luz and his own daughter Amity.

Trivia[]

  • Because Dana Terrace is open to continuing the series in the future, if Disney lets her, there is a possibility that his status could be affected.
  • Coincidentally, his voice actor Jim Pirri voiced two Near Pure Evil’s Kraven the Hunter, and Akeel Min Riah from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare respectively.
