~ Aladdin convincing Jafar to use his third wish to become an all powerful Genie |
Aladdin is the titular main protagonist of Disney's 2019 live action adaptation of the classical animated movie of same name.
He is a thief and "street rat" in the kingdom of Agrabah, stealing to survive. Once a man named Jafar kidnapped him so he'd enter a magical cave and retrieved a magical lamp with a genie in it, however, his life changed. While trying to impress Princess Jasmine and getting in confrontations with Jafar himself, Aladdin learns to be more humble and make better choices.
He was portrayed by Mena Massoud.
His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- Even if it wasn't always the case, most off the time he stole things solely to survive by trading them for food.
- He gave food to two starving children in a situation worse than his, even though his rations were already extremely small, and convinced his monkey Abu to do the same.
- He saved Jasmine when she unknowingly stole something, running away from the guards with her.
- He didn't know Abu had stolen Jasmine's bracelet and attempted to find it and give it back.
- He promised to the Genie he'd use his third wish to free him.
- He gives lots of gold to the citizens of Agrabah, even though this is most likely to maintain his disguise as Prince Ali.
- Arranged a date for the Genie with Dalia, even though it was likely so he could enter Jasmine's room.
- He apologized for his behavior in A Whole New World.
- Regardless of him using a wish to do it, he was very thankful for the Genie for saving his life, and said he owed him.
- He exposed Jafar for the criminal he was, and when he tried hypnotizing the Sultan, he broke his staff, causing him to be arrested.
- He eventually realized his mistakes and regretted not listening to Genie, Abu and Carpet.
- He came back with the Magic Carpet and tried to defeat Jafar.
- Helped save himself and Jasmine from Iago's monstrous form.
- He tricked Jafar into asking to become the most powerful being in the universe (giving the Genie free interpretation to turn Jafar into a genie himself), causing him to be locked up and defeated, saving Shirabad from him in the process.
- He freed the Genie with his third wish instead of asking to be a Prince again.
- He left the palace before being taken back by Jasmine, due to not believing himself worthy of forgiveness.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He sometimes steals things when it isn't necessary for him to survive and doesn't appear to feel remorse for this.
- He is far more arrogant than his animated counterpart, being even more aggressive to the Genie once he calls him out on wanting to keep lying to Jasmine, even if he atones for this in the end.
Trivia[]
- He and his animated counterpart are the only versions of Aladdin to be Near Pure Good.
- Coincidentally, just like they share their statuses, both the original Jasmine and the remake one share their status of Pure Good.
